Idea Today I got the idea to pay myself for good behavior. I've always set goals "if I lose 10 pounds I'll buy this" etc... This time, I will pay myself $ on every day that I work out, and $ on every day that I stay within my calorie allowance. I want to buy a set of golf clubs and a trailer hitch/bike rack. both are exercise options so it's a win/win.
When I get the money earned to buy my new toys, I should have lost the weight, or some of it, because I can only earn the money by working out and cutting calories.

It's a great idea! We all need motivation, and your idea sounds like a good deal. Motivate yourself to go get what you REALLY want.
When I lost my weight, I celebrated by buying an awesome bass, an instrument that I know I will always come back to. An instrument that really is something else, and one that would normally be way outside my price range.
I love it to death, and I have spent SO many hours playing it, and every time I do so, I am reminded of the work that it took to get it.
Go get your golf clubs! Smile

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

It's amazing that since making this little pact with myself yesterday, I've had two successful days. I'm teetering on the calories tonight but still I haven't gone over. I didn't do a full work out today so it cut me a bit short.
I love that you rewarded yourself with a Bass. I know what it is like to love our talents, hobbies, etc... It is really good for the soul.
Can't wait to earn those clubs. What fun! Smile

Seeing success will be your biggest motivator. Wait until you lose 3 pounds, then 5 and so on until you reach your goal. It's almost addictive to keep going, so much that your biggest reward will be a healthier you.

Congratulations on your great start - Keep it going!

I have my "reward" items in my closet already and can't wait to fit into them.

I've been a size 20-22 pants for 20 years and several years ago when I had lost some weight I bought size 18 jeans. They "almost" fit at that time and I thought "only 10 more pounds and they will fit." Well that didn't happen and they're still there with the tags on them. I think I'm about 10-15 pounds from wearing them now. Smile

My second reward is a beautiful dress that I want to wear on a cruise in 6-1/2 weeks. I bought it a month ago and it fits, but it would look so much better with about 10-15 pounds off me and more toning (and some Spanx, I'm sure, ha ha). I can't wait to look like one hot mama on my cruise.

My first goal is to be below 200 lbs by my birthday, and if I meet that, I'm going to San Dieago with my friends. My second goal is a really cute pair of bannana republic jeans that I bought when I began in on here in March. They're hanging in my room, so I see them every day before I go to work. (I haven't been a 14 since high school, so thats a big deal for me!)

You can do it! I hope you enjoy your vacation and your jeans! Goals are great aren't they? I watch my progress on here and though the weight comes off rather slowly, i notice my body changing. I've lost 3% of my body fat already.

I only have 20-25 pounds to lose. i'm not paying myself for any weight loss at all, just to save for the golf clubs and trailer hitch/bike rack. I would just go buy them, but thought I should work for them. so when I get to the cost of them, the pact will be over. it will keep me going for as long as it takes to earn the $. then I'll find something else.
My trainer told me about gym-pact and it is what made me do this. People in my gym use it, but the reviews were all over the board as to if the GPS logged them into the gym or not. some weren't getting paid. do you use it? how is your experience?
Thank you all for your posts. I love this site. I am down another pound today, so I'm pretty happy. But the weight loss is just the reward for the reasons I joined the fitness place. Goal 1 was to build endurance, I want to be able to run a mile. I'm almost there. Goal 2 was strength, I want to be able to drop and give em 10! LOL working on that one, goal 3 was to slim and tone. I am a size 8, but I have a small frame, I was out of shape, very thick around the middle, and I should be a size 5. I don't have a long way to go with weight, but I am in my 50s so it moves slower. I feel great now. Two months with a trainer and working out regularly. I am well on my way.

This is a good idea. My closet is full of clothes that I could wear in every size from 18 to size 4. If I put 5 dollars away for every pound lost I could add a few items when I reach my final goal.
Stay strong, stay focused.

Start weight 259 pounds. Ultimate goal: 120 pounds.

I love this idea!!! My hubby keeps telling me that I need new clothes but I keep telling him I will buy them when I lose the weight. It's always been a goal in the back of my mind, to get new clothes, but now I look at it as more of a reward. THANKS and good luck to all.

I'm wearing these jeans today to work! Just had them altered because they were too long, but they fit everywhere else and they feel great! Very Happy
