Hi! I've been trying to eat well for 2 weeks now, but my sweet tooth always wins me over! I've been watching what I eat and been doing 30 minutes of exercise per day ( when i come back from school, i go directly do an exercise video (minna's emergency workout). I do the cardio part because the toning part is too long for my schedual. I walk to school( only about 8 minutes)...But this doesnt seem to work! Any tips?! Thanks!

Do an elimination diet for 30 days, such as no sugar, alcohol, and eat very low carbs. It is difficult for a little while but it will stop all your cravings and then you can slowing ease back to where you want to be. Good Luck!

When you have a craving, think about it for a while. "Do I really want this? Do I want it enough to have some?" If the answer is yes, then have a small account and work that amount into your daily calorie budget.

Also, if your diet calendar is accurate then you're not eating enough, and you're definitely not eating good food. Cut back on the processed stuff and replace it with lots of healthy vegetables and some fruit. It may well be that your body just wants more nutrition than it's getting.

How old are you? and how tall?

You are only 8.5 stone / 120 lbs
Do you actually need to lose weight or just get fit?

Try eating more healthily, unless you are very very short I doubt you are too heavy

Claire - I have a sweet tooth too!! The gum works for me sometimes...especially now that Extra has made those Dessert Delight gums that actually taste like the dessert they are supposed to be (Lemon Square and the Apple Cobbler/Pie ones are my faves). Another thing that works for me is to brush my teeth or have mint...cause I don't want to put anything in my mouth after brushing (and if I did it would taste funny thanks to the minty-ness)

A couple of years ago I went to see a nutritional doc and he helped me build a plan based around how I eat. He said cravings are one way for the body to tell you it needs something. Not that I recommend eating dirt if you are craving it (true story...he had a pregnant woman who was craving dirt it turned out that she needed iron and apparently that is in dirt...huh, who knew). He also said that for those sweet tooth cravings to keep mini tootsie rolls or mini 3Muskateer bars in the house and have one or two when I was craving sweets (both those things have no fat and he said were better than say a Hershey bar) and I do that to this day and I find that it really helps.

Good Luck!!
