Rotator Cuff?!

Anyone have experience with rotator cuff probs? All those pushups I did have taken their toll!

So i'm looking for recommendations on a speedy recovery. Certain rehab movements work better than others? Certain meds help alleviate swelling/tenderness? Ancient chinese remedies? Anything will help! Thx!

Meloxicam was sort of a wonder drug for my shoulder.

When my shoulder was giving me issues, I did most of the rehab stuff with exercise bands - abduction, flexion, internal/external rotation, etc... mostly stuff that I could do at home with a band attached to a door handle or closed in the door.

The biggest thing is not to do anything with too much weight (use the bands but not with a ton of tension or use 2-4 pound dumbbells, if any..) and try not to go too big with your range of motion too quickly..

You probably know all of that already... but I guess the other thing that you probably don't want to hear is that you should really just rest and ice it. Smile

try Arnica or Traumeel, both natural creams that work on any of my problems. tennis elbow, carpel tunnel , and my arthritis. Both creams are found in the natural dept of the drug stores or any homeopathic stores. along with the other suggestions, this should help. good luck

I'm glad that you posted this. I have been having some shoulder issues lately, I think due to push-ups and planks. I've got the rotator cuff symptoms along with pain down through my back ribs. So far just resting is helping, but I'm thinking I need to find some exercises to help build my muscles back up too. Glad to know I'm not the only one with these issues!

Sign up & complete a 5K- Done
Get a bike and use it!

I'll definitely look into Arnica and Traumeel. Thanks for the suggestion. Yesterday I did some range of motion movements, including scapula retractions and squeezes, internal and external rotations, and lateral raises with my shoulders blades squeezed together, seemed to help Smile

My hubby had rotator cuff surgery and the Doc screwed it up worse than it was! And,after the surgery,he was in agony and went back and he apparantly had torn the muscle loose that was attatched to the area.Know 5 yrs later it needs another surgery and he has already had 2 heart attacks and has a "Full metal Jacket" they call it{heart full of metal/stents} Make sure you have the best surgeon!!!!

Heh I'm one of those stubborn guys that likes to fix something by themselves first before getting help. Inflammation is one thing, but if something seemed torn or broke and hurt ALL the time then I'd definitely seek proper help if I knew that without a doubt that I needed to swallow my pride and see the doc. I know, I know, but just sayin!

I waited three months. I lost 75% use of my right arm and even after one year of PT I had lost so much range of motion that now 25 years later I still can't reach behind my back. My suggestion from experience is to go to the doctor early just to make sure.

I've been doing the typical movements like the "innies" and "outies", cross body shoulder stretch, rang of motion movements, etc. It's feeling better, but i'll still make the time to get in to see the doc soon Smile

I don't tend to go to the doctor for a minor injury either, but I end up giving whatever it is complete rest until the pain is gone and then some. Stop early and let it heal as long as you need.

do trust my physio!!! If you go and see a doc over here, they give you painkillers & tell you to come backin 6 weeks if it still hurts. So instead I go & see my physio, if she can't fix me in 3 seesions, she will write a letter telling them whats wrong. So far I was always sorted after 1 session. Smile

My recipe shows 1 serving. How can I select grams. I have no idea what 1 serving is. I would like to say I ate 193 grams of my recipe. HOw can I do this?
