I keep losing weight than I gain it back. I don't change what I eat. I eat the same amount of calories, the same stuff. But my weight still goes up and down. It is so frustrating! I don't know what I am doing wrong.

This is my food diary for the past week. I gained 5 pounds. Could it be from lack of sleep?

It could be lack of sleep, PMS, sodium intake... any number of things.

I don't think you're not giving it enough time. You just joined 10 days ago. It helps if you only weigh-in once a week - same time of day wearing same clothes, etc. You'll lose weight over time. Usually 1-2 pounds a week. If you weigh everyday, you might get frustrated due to regular weight fluctuations due to lack of sleep, PMS, sodium, if you've pooped...

Also, if you ask for help from the forums, it helps if you tell us your current weight, height and if you share your diet calendar. That way the people who are helping can make a more educated guess as to what may be going on.

Are you eating enough meals through out the day?
Are you eating balanced meals? and
Are you excersising?
just counting calories isn't always enough if you are skipping meals or not eating something about every 2 to 3 hours..
try looking up a glycemic index and learn which foods are considered fast carbs and which ones are considered slow or complex carbs.. your fast carbs give you a quick boost of energy and then metabolise into fat.. * not a doctor, not sure how it works*
Complex carbs, from what I understand stay in your stomach longer and can give you a steady amount of energy .. the higher the number in the index the faster the carb. You want to eat more of the complex or slow carbs. in combination with your proteins to help you keep those cravings away so you don't over eat when you do eat. Hope this helps.. it has me.. Have a great week and don't be too hard on yourself Wink

I eat every four hours, I have hypoglycemia so I have to. *Losin25* I just joined this site 10 days ago, but I have been counting calories for 7 months now. I decided to do it on a website instead of a notebooks. I rarely eat red meat, I can't stand the taste of it. So I eat yogurt and peanut butter to get protein. But those are both high in fat and calories. I will look up stuff that is complex carbs. But I only have whats in the cafeteria here at school, which really limits what I have to eat Sad

It's hard to say what you're doing right or wrong without access to your information. Knowing what you eat (calories) isn't worth anything if we don't know what you weight and what you burn.

Depending on your size, you could either be eating too much or too little.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

Mermaid, I have the same problem...I eat healthy, am exercising but am gaining weight or just not losing. Today I went over the 160 line to 161 which is bothering me. Granted, I went into my weight loss knowing I can't do cardio till I'm medically cleared (I have Mild Obstructive Lung Disorder so if I do cardio, I pass out) but I didn't think I'd be gaining weight. I previously had success with Sensa (If you look when I first joined you will see the results...with no exercise at all cause I was recovering from pneumonia, bronchitis and severe lung disease such a fun 2 years) and I think I'm gonna go back to that, add it to what I'm doing since it worked before.
