I just started a new group and would love for those with the same goal to join. I am hoping we can all support each other in obtaining this goal or doing the best we can. We are all in this together!

Hi, My goal is to lose more than 100 but I'm making smaller goals to get to my total goal weight. Hopefully that will keep me focused working on smaller goals to get to my main goal.

I am with you. They say it is easier to loose the more you have to loose but i disagree. The first 30 was easier. But now soooo difficult as i reach tough plateaus.

bickbch....I disagree as well. There is a big difference from losing 10-15lbs compared to those that need to lose over 100. Not saying we don't have the same difficulties with staying on track. But it takes a shorter period of time to lose the 10-15 lbs which does have the advantage of staying focused where as those like myself that want/need to lose over 100 lbs have difficulty staying focused for such a long period of time and I tend to give up. That's why I decided to set smaller goals..ok maybe not so small but I've lost 60 lbs before so I know I can accomplish that. Smile

We have got to keep pushing ourselves. This has to become our lifestyle, or we wont stay with it. It's going to be hard, but it will be so worth it. "nothing taste, as good as slim feels" That has to drive us everyday. If we support and encourage each other, we can make it. It's easy to sit on the sidelines and judge and make excuses. But we know the struggles better than anyone. So we can help each other.
I invite you both to join the group "Looking to Lose 100" as we take on this journey.

carrollb...Totally agree Smile I joined the group...not a lot of activity yet but it will come. Smile I read your bio and had to giggle when you spoke of looking into surgery....I did the exact same thing. HA!! I figured if I'm going to have any type of surgery it will be to have the skin if any removed after I lose the weight. Smile But what I did do is take some of the ideas of what those that have the surgery must do plus looking at the fast diet. Lost over 3 lbs in less then a week. And actually woke this morning feeling really good. Just thought I'd share. Smile but funny how we both said NO WAY to the surgery bit. Smile

Hi everyone. I joined the group and would love to share this journey with all of you. Like Angela H, I need to "officially" lose more than 100 from when I started, but for now I put my goal at a weight that I remember being in high school (ha!).

I guess my shock happened when i saw my chart at the doctors office and it said morbidly obese. I have low self esteem due to having to wear leg braces but to see it on paper was a shock. I am working to loose at least two lbs this week but so far still stuck. The scale is my enemy today!

Hi kkd Smile Thanks for the buddy request. I had to go with a lower goal or I know I would get discouraged and give up...but I know I've lost 60 lbs before so I know it can be done so I've made that a mini goal...if that's what we want to call it. HA!!

bickbch....hmmm me thinks the scale is ALWAYS the enemy HEHE!! and that self esteem is a bugger too. I'm slloooowwwlllyyy learning that what matters is what's on the inside not the out. Not just having a good heart but that with this weight I'm not being good to my inside. Sort of did a mental picture of what my body would look like if it was inside out and well that mental picture was NOT a pretty site. Smile That 2 lbs will come off, just keep focused. Smile

when my husband and I decided to get healthy this year, we decided to adopt the mindset of "gaining health" and not "losing weight." It feels better to make choices that feed a positive goal, rather than feel the pressure to uphold a negative-sounding goal.

Thanks. Just thinking of the need to increase activity. I think it is so difficult when we carry so much weight. I plan to do more today. Each day a little more.

kkd...its wonderful that you and your hubby are doing this together. My hubby is as skinny as a rail, but he supports me 100% but the only pain in the butt is that he is the most pickiest eater I have ever come across so most nights I have to cook two meals and then our little one will have a little from each meal. Feels more like a restaurant at our house. HAHA!!

bickbch....that's great on the walking...I've been stuck behind a computer most of the morning with a few walk abouts. Smile I peeked at your diet calendar and noticed you do a lot of very low cal days. You might not be seeing any change because of that...to many days of VLC could be putting your body into starvation mode which could means that your body is not allowing the fat to be burned??? I'm not expert but maybe that could be the situation. When you head to the store be sure to look for "The Fast Diet" that's the book I have, there are others out there but I liked this one because there is also a video (its an hour long) called Eat, Fast and Live Longer (I think you can watch it over the computer, if interested) and the guy in the video is the same guy that wrote the book.

I wish you guys an enjoyable journey. Make sure to keep things simple, set up some ground rules and make your journey one you can do day in and day out for a LONG time.

I did this, and it was actually (generally) surprisingly easy.

It CAN be done. Smile

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.
