Having spent sooooo long being couch fixated in the evenings, can anybody out there give me any ideas on motivating myself to introduce more excercise into my lifestyle, now have an exercise bike but I have a feeling a wee bit of variety helps?? thanks

Motivation... Can you run up and down two flights of stairs without being out of breath and quick recovery (don't try if you have medical conditions that effect joints and chest)

Motivation...you've spent the money on an exercise bike...time to use it. Go for a 10 min walk before and after to warm up and cool down

It's so cliche but fake it until you make it, get out there and just start exercising, after a week or so, you'll miss it if you don't. Also, a motivational wall is great! Just pick a place where you can hang pictures, a certain item of clothing you want to look great in, photos of people with great bodies that you want to work toward, quotes, anything that motivates you, hang it up.
I also know people that put money in a jar every time they work out, then after say, 100 workouts, they treat themselves; clothes, manicures, massage, anything like that.

Check out your local YMCA for group fitness classes. Seeing folks of all different ages working out is very encouraging and a motivator for me. You will then get some socialization with others. Walking is good too!

First, start recording your food vs activity. Record everything for a time period to get a real good idea of how much you actually eat. Many are surprised how many calories they consume compared to activity. Otherewise, you could be like many and exercise but then eat all those calories and the net result is nothing and you don't lose weight and you get frustrated and quit.

Lost 50 lbs. in 2011, gained a bit back after pregnancy.
If did it once, I can do it again!


Goal #1: 190 lbs. - Met April 29, 2013

Goal #4: 160 lbs.

The mirror test is good. You get to see yourself the way other see you. Also it gives you a better perspective rather than looking down your body. Looking down will always make your belly look bigger lol

I get into those moods as well, it could be that you're body does need some extra food from exercising but if you feel you are eating enough and well, then it may just be your mind playing tricks on ...
