Filling 500 calorie or less dinner?

On my more active days, I have a hard time feeling full, after a 500 calorie dinner. Has anyone come across an easy to prepare meal, that really does the trick? Thanks in advance Smile

Loads of veggies - Large salad w/ balsamic vinegar. Spaghetti squash, zucchini, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, edamame, asparagus - take your pick. I use fresh when possible, but also will use the steamfresh by birds eye or green giant - the ones without sauces. I will microwave and then add my own low calorie sauce. Shirataki noodles are low calorie (found in vegan section of grocery store).

I like to have a big dinner and will often have a salad and 3-4 servings of veggies. I never go over 500 calories for dinner, but leave room for an almond milk milkshake in the evening.

I often get comment like "I've never seen someone eat so many vegetables". I love my veggies and I love to eat, so I fill up on them. It helps that it takes me 30-45 minutes just to finish my dinner. I eat a ton of veggies for lunch too, but also usually have a sandwich or something else too.

Have you tried some of the recipes on this website? I've been making some of them, and then I'll make a salad or rice to go with it! If your entree is around 300 calories, there's nothing stopping you from having a big salad (luv veggies! low calorie foods! Smile ) or even something starchy(I <3 potatoes!)... depending on what type of plan you're following!

Split it into 2 or 3 courses. A smooth vegetable soup such as carrot. Followed by a salad with minimal dressing. Followed by a vegetable stew over Cauliflower 'rice'.

Make the soup and stew in advance and freeze in portions. Then all you have to do is Assemble your salad and process your 'rice'. Everything else just needs heating up.

I have done tomato/veggie soups many times. They're super delish. Basically a ton of chopped up veggies (use the low cal ones, like onion, mushroom, celery, peppers etc.), and add canned/fresh tomato. I get about 300 grams of soup - and absolutely reasonable portion - for 81 calories according to my last calculation. You could eat almost 4lbs of this within 500 calories. Would that be enough? Very Happy

Thanks everyone, it sounds like I need to make a place like Souper!Salad! or Sweet Tomatoes my go to restaurant and clean them out of their veggies Smile

one day at a time and even one meal at a time... it works. Make small goals.. say when I lose my first 5 lbs I'll do.... (and not something food related) then make the next goal 10 lbs Sounds ...
