Hey Joyce it looks like we joined the same day! I am still trying to figure out how to add foods without going thru the data base. Is that possible? Brytize

Joyce, you are on your way. I just stopped in fatsecret, I was very active with Atkins, fatsecret from Sept. 2010 until the fall of 2011. I was 49 and my weight was out of control. I found so much support here, and reached my goal 8 months later. I lost 58 pounds.

Today I had got a message from a fatsecret friend and she had lost over 100 lbs.and looks great and is so much healthier then before. I don't think I would have stuck to it if I hadn't found the support here. Just a word of advice, stay clear from the people who want to plan "cheat days", you can work around vacations and holiday's with good food and stick to the plan. Find a group that will help you succeed, shares your goals. We're all human a slip up, but when that happens get back on track and help others do the same.

Taking control of my diet, my health allowed me to move forward in my life. At 51 I went back to school to pursue a career in culinary arts. Next week I start my externship at a top rated restaurtant. This is something I wouldn't have been able to do back in 2010 because my weight had such a negative effect on my health and self confidence.

Once again, you're on your way. 21 pounds is 2 big bags of potatoes and hamburger for 4. Visuals help me.

I hope this site helps you achieve your goals. And, by the way, I've been here for weeks and hadn't figured out how to add my own food. LOL.
I'm copying your instructions now!

I've given up on the recipes and posted mine on the recipe thread of this forum. Every recipe I entered wound up "pending" forever!
The ticker is the little goal bar under the posts. It gives your start weight and goal weight and tracks where you are. Really kinda neat. Mine, however, is stuck on 172.6. It's supposed to keep up with your weigh ins... here's hopin' it catches up! I am slowly getting to know some of the people here, they are amazing. You'll find some have been here quite a while, some are new to the site and Atkins, but they are all great supporters and motivators. Here's getting to know you!

Probably lowering your calories by at least 500 a day and eating clean is your best bet.
