Change BMR?

Do you mean you RDI (your daily calorie intake) if so you go to the homepage. On the right side of your screen you will see "toolbox" within the toolbox, click "diet", your RDI is option "E" in the diet quick link.

NO, I mean the number of calories that the site calculated I burn just sitting on my fat butt =P It claims if I just sleep and 'rest' I'll burn 3500 calories -- which is just not correct. It really throws off the net calorie calculation.

The site does not allow this because the formula used is doesn't take into account being fat or being unusually lean. If you're overweight it will always give a higher BMR than it should.

The way I manage it is to lie about my weight here, making me light enough so that I get the approximate real BMR. (Mine was tested, and at 175 pounds and 21% body fat, it was 980, so you can imagine how far the values are off for me! I'd have to be about 400 years old to make it right with either standard BMR formula, and they won't allow me to claim I'm 400 years old here.) For weigh-ins, I subtract the correct number of pounds from that imaginary weight, so that the weight history accurately reflects what has happened, relatively. I exercise, but I under-report it here because that would also make my BMR look higher here than it is IRL.

Try this. I think it is what your are asking.

Go to "enter exercise" page, there set the hours you challenge to 0. In your case you would set sleep to 0 and rest to 0. Then go to "+add exercise" and scroll down to other.Here you can rename and set your own values for sleep and rest.Now you can set the hours for these values.

Since you can personalize exercise times here you should, and then reset you RDI set up question page to show sedentary. The program will now base its recommendations on a sedentary life style plus any modifications you have added such as extra exercise, sleep, resting etc.

Anybody know how Google fit is supposed to connect to my fat secret? I've connected, but can't see exercise I add to the my fat secret app in Google fit, or the other way around.
