With an extra serve of crock on the side.

Well, I drink alkaline water and I can tell from experience that my digestive system functions better. I also noticed my energy level is higher. I'm not going back to dirty unregulated bottled water.

Before you say it's a crock, try it first. Keep an open mind.

Read more on it, do your homework. Read the article on alkaline water from http://www.healthalkaline.com

No thank you. Show me peer-reviewed studies in reputable medical journals, not hype from a site that's trying to sell me something.

Hi Hoser: I will not do your research for you. If you keep an open mind, you'll do it yourself. Just google "alkaline water clinical studies."

If you make a claim, it is your burden of proof to support it - not to throw out any claim you can dream up, and then leave it up to everyone else to disprove it.

You disguise this fact by turning the tables and suggesting Hoser is lazy and/or uninformed, when the reality is, if you had actual support for your claim in the form of published, peer reviewed research, you would post it. But you do not, because none exists. You're left with nothing but unverified, unfalsifiable anecdote that is easily explained by placebo effect and/or confirmation bias. And unsupported argument and anecdote from a website trying to sell things.

In other words, no support at all. But seeing as how you just joined, and these are your only posts, you're a spammer and not only misleading people, but violating the site's terms of use as well.

Wow! I get this attack for saying "do your own research." Where's the tolerance here? Again, it's your responsibility to educate yourself. Stop calling me names because I new here.

I should be welcomed to this forum, not blasted for my views. However, I did a Google search for you if that makes you happier with me.

A clinical study here has just been completed, but results are not yet posted: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/results/NCT01487954

I will keep posted on the results.

So, your "proof" for your anecdotal experiences being empirical evidence is a funded, non-reviewed study with no posted findings?

I'll go out on a limb here and bet there will never be any findings because there were probably never meant to be any. I'll also wait with bated breath for peer review on the no findings study (not really).

Normally I wouldn't respond to this stuff, but your links are meant to obfuscate the points made by respected members of this community and are purposefully misleading.

I don't have anything to sell. Like I said in my post, if you could read, that a man was selling it to us. I wanted to see if anyone had heard of or knew anything, possibly any experience with the stuff. I thought this was a community of people who cared and with the same problems as me, however, what I have found is a bunch of ASSHOLES with closed minds who apparently know it all. So you get lost you dick head. And that goes for all the rest of you mean ugly people. I hope you stay fat because you will definitely stay ugly!

Woooah. Settle down. I have heard that putting lemon in your water can make it more "alkaline", the only data I can report back is that it tastes delicious, and makes drinking water more exciting. It could all be in my mind, but I think it could even curb the old appetite a bit.

I think this is really sad. The person only asked a simple question, was not selling or making any claims and gets trashed. From what i have read its water which is treated by ionization to remove impurities and makes no claim to fat loss but improves dehydration. The referred clinical test was to see if it assists in cancer therapy not fat loss. As for research funding all research is funded by commerce and government else it would never happen. People do get hung up on research from their peers and even when it is given it will be Poo pooed as there is always another peer with another view. How many people can actually understand and quantify the results of a clinical trial. At the end of the day you won't be halmed drinking it, if you like it and feel ok with it then carry on. And stop calling people names, iits childish, it achieves nothing and detracts from the actual topic

Right on Jonny!! You're bang on.

I'm totally stunned by the nasty tone and comments in this thread. Shame on you people. Be supportive. If you can't do that then at least be respectful. And goodness if you can't be that, then say nothing or leave the forum. Wow. I'm sorry I read this. It totally un-made my day. Crying or Very sad

I think people are getting tired of hearing the same old silly questions seeking some magic solution to the issue of weight loss or whatever
Alkaline water, various herbs, pills, potions etc etc

After a while it gets a bit wearing especially as the whole concept of fat secret is about measuring what you eat and staying in a caloric deficit to lose weight the constant questions that seem to rely on fantasy or some wacko diet or health theory just become annoying

Does not make it right. If you are weary of the same q's then why reply as its counter productive. The thread would then reach its demise quickly. At the end of the day be constructive, no abuse and remain open minded to ideas whether they appear unfounded. All ideas started unfounded until tried and the results seen..ie atkins, dukan, paleo etc etc. This thread just asked if anyone had tried it and made no claims. The answers should have been "no" "yes" "felt better" "made no difference to me from what came out if the tap(faucet)" etc..

And in answer to you..yes i am alive so don't rattle me and play nicely lol Smile

I agree, it is definetly in the calories you take in vs the amount you burn. So a "diet" is not healthy, I think it is more about your game plan to allow your body to burn the calories you eat, ...
