You are so right! My dad who just turned 82 came to visit me recently and was taking all kinds of stuff, most of it not even good for him because Dr. Oz said it was good. I explained to my dad that all stuff has side effects and he needs to be much more careful about accepting Dr. Oz as a source of good information.

Ya know, there's nothing wrong with taking what works for you, or using any part of a message that resonates with you personally, and discarding the rest. We can learn from ANYONE, even people we disagree with or don't necessarily admire. Knowledge is never wasted. Just verify information when it involves ingesting things, with your own doctor.

I made a joke to someone recently that if you take all of the supplements he has recommended since season one, you would spend all day chugging pills! There's something not quite right about that. But no reason to x out everything. Like everyone else says, take the suggestion but do your own research before you run with it.
