Weight loss pills

In November last year I was diagnosed diabetes. I weighed a whopping 96.1kg's in the beginning of Jan 2013. The doc put me on Duramine 30mg for 8 months. I am currently on month number 3. I now weigh 80.9kg's. Now my weight is standing a bit still. Has anyone else used Duromine? What are the long term effects. 8 months is a long time, but the doc says its safe. My goal weight is 65kg's.

Please give your opinions on losing weight with medical assistance. I am starting to add exercise to my routine on Monday, need to help my weight along to my goal. The Duromine has changed my eating habits and patterns that I am fairly confident that I will be able to keep the routine I am in now up, long after I am finished with the Duromine.

Most doctor's aren't trained to give weight loss advice, thus the meds. I would ask for a referral to a dietitian if you want individualized expert help. Otherwise, I would just log what your eating, exercise, and try to lose weight without the meds. I mean, you can't take the meds forever, so you will eventually have to learn how to lose and keep the weight off. It's mainly about burning more calories than you consume. So if you are active and burn 2400 calories, try eating 500-1000 less than that. Find a balance, figure out how you want to achieve your goals, motivation IMO is priority to keep you going. Plan your meals, know you weaknesses.

I would agree with this, but sometimes when health is a concern people need to take weight off quicker until they can change their eating habits that put the extra weight on.


There is always the hope that fast weight loss will make it easier to move on to a maintenance phase. Unfortunately, that rarely if ever happens spontaneously, just as people who opt for bariatric surgery over diet find that they still have to eat a restricted diet, yet rarely reach their goals.

Alli might be a good choice, that's what I'm taking. Only weight loss pill approved by the FDA.

I was type 2 diabetic on 2 meds several years ago. I age low-glycemic w/in the diabetic range for how many carbs allowed each meal. I lost 80 lbs. and got off both meds during this time. With age and slower metabolism, some weight was gained. I feel that Atkins is one of the BEST for diabetes as you drastically cut carbs (sugar) and eat super healthy. I'm working to keep myself from ever being diabetic again that natural way. I rarely have any cravings. If I do, I have a small amount of what I want and get back on plan. I'm exercising more than ever and I feel fantastic.
I wish you the best with this. Diabetes is an awful disease, aging your cells and damaging so much of the body. Good for you for taking charge!

Cauliflower pizza
