I am right there with you girl! I am 5'7" and started at 185 with a goal of 150. I was able to lose 23 lbs in 7 weeks and have pretty much been stalled at 162-163. My jump start occurred through activity, and is probably the reason my losing streak has ended. I have been traveling for work and not making time to even walk. It doesn't take but about 20 minutes a day to kick start your metabolism and it really does make a difference. Best of luck. Also I gave myself a cheat meal if I managed a certain activity level each week. It was something to look forward to.

thanks Ky. I am just starting to try to exercise but there isnt much on offer where I live so I thought I would just start with walking, would you say to do this every day or maybe just weekdays. The only other activity here is swimming so that may well be an alternative. What do you think to this? Good luck with your kick start and the next 12/13 lb

I am happy if I get in 2 or 3 activities a week. I am not talking about getting out there and becoming a gym rat. Just moving.
I began working from our house, 5 yrs ago, and the dramatic drop in my every day body movement was crazy. I used to get up and walk from the parking lot to my office. I would take stairs to avoid waits for the elevator. After I moved my office home, I walked from my bedroom to my office and then to the KITCHEN!!! So any activity was better than what I was doing. It is spring time girl!! Lets get out and begin to enjoy the days. Even if we walk slow and just a little farther each day, we will be lapping all of the people sitting on the couch complaining about their weight!!

Oh I forgot to add that now I am even making myself go to the bathroom on another floor in our house!!! Walking up the stairs. Parking in the back of the parking lot at the grocery store. All of the extra movement burns calories. Good luck to you!! Make sure and do your weigh ins. It keeps you honest and has tended to keep me on track.

While I'm not in menopause (yet) I am in my late 40's and I have noticed a huge change as I age. Our hormones get all out of wack and the weight is very stubborn. No longer are can I just work out and eat better to lose weight. I got a lot of tips from this show on "balancing hormones" that I implemented and I think its one of the main reasons I'm seeing weightloss finally! Maybe some of these tips can work for you. There are 5 segments to this particular episode, all quick to watch. Good luck!
