So I was told today that high carbs are bad for you as well, as I sit here and wonder why I still havent lost a pound and seem to be going up and down between a 5 pound range, what am I doing wrong?
Is there a good way to still keep your protein intake high, lower carb intake tremendously (<20g) and still stay under you calorie intake per day.
Can anyone help?!?!?

Have you tried reading the Atkins New Diet Revolution published in 2002? It sounds like exactly what you are looking for, many people safely stay on the Induction phase for much more than just the initial two weeks.
Thing is, you need/want guidance. I suggest actually reading as much as you can to learn the correct way to try low carb...

I agree with RavenSoul69 - I tried for 2 months to just loose 1 lbs with no success. The first week on Atkins Induction I lost 6.2 lbs ! I do recommend you read up on the Atkins before you start-- I wasn't exactly following it the first week, however still managed to loose some lbs. Good luck !

Under normal dietary guidelines a 2,000 calorie a day diet consists of 65g of fat, 60g of protein, and 300g of carbs. There is no need to eat 20g of carbs a day. You can easily lose weight capping your net carbs at 100g a day and it's a better long term solution.
White meat protein sources will give you the extra protein you need, the fullness factor that comes with, and not the crazy high fat content that comes with red meat. Try eating more pork, skinless chicken breasts, some hams, seafood, turkey, etc. Eat lower carb vegetables like green beans. With extra protein drink a lot of water.
Also - I do not recommed recording exercise that does not elevate your heart rate. Housework is not exercise - it is an activity.

Standard guidelines used to recommend balancing your fat, protein, and carb calories. Now they recommend eating 60% of your calories as carbs. Since that change, overweight, obesity, morbid obesity, and type II diabetes have skyrocketed. Such a diet is anything but moderate.
I recommend starting by eating moderately. Your protein looks to be right where it should be. Eat more fat, eat fewer carbs. Eat more real food prepared from basic ingredients. You should find that more satisfying and easier to stick with.
It is normal for the weight to bounce up and down, but if you're not losing at all, you should cut down your calories a bit on the average. Eliminating binging like the one last night should do that.

Thank you everyone for your input and help. After going Thursday and Friday (not counting the Taco Bell) I feel much better about the way I need to do things; I would like to eventually cut down to 1 shake a day and do another high protein low carb meal in place of the shake. I will definently look into the Atkins Book; my dad did this diet and dropped 80 pounds in 6 months, he is the one that brought up the fact of high carb intake and started showing me labels around the house to show what more of i need to look out for. Again thank you everyone for your support and help.

I aim for between 80 and 100 grams of protien a day and the carbs I eat are mostly from dairy and veggies. I have a protien shake every morning, made with milk. It is 290 calories but it is 32 grams of protien to start my day off right. Very filling and keeps me satisfied. I would say try upping your protien intake and see what happens.
