I weigh daily, first thing in the morning, out of habit. If I gain, I look back at the past few days to see what the cause might be.
I try to be so good that when it goes up and it does it absolutely drives me crazy. I could say it ruins my day. Over and Over. I'm obsessed with maintaining a specific weight.

WEBMD gives the following advice "People who succeed at losing weight and keeping it off weigh themselves often, research shows. A step on the scale at least once a week seems to build awareness best.
Don't stress if the number on the scale goes up and down: Weight can change by several pounds over the course of a few days as water weight shifts."

I agree. I think being aware of your weight on a constant basis, especially when it's a problem, is important. When I stop weighing myself is when I stop paying attention to what I eat and I begin to gain back weight. Got to stick with it. Can you tell this is "self talk"?

I weigh myself once a day, in the mornings. But I have an offical weigh in day that I record to help keep me accountable. I look at the trend, either downward or upward to gauge my performance and make adjustments as necessary. If I don't weigh in, I lose track of my goal.

Weighing daily is important if you're trying to lose or maintain your weight. It allows you to make changes to your diet, how active you are or examine some of your habits. It's easy to track over time,

. It doesn't have to be painful, just effective. I lost 45 pounds over the course of 8 months and have kept it off for about as long.

Without me spending a lot of time researching Urgravity can you email me some of the highlights of the service and what the costs are. Or you can post it here. Thanks -J

They make it easy to collect your health measurements (weight, activity, calories, sleep) by allowing me to use my fitbit (a digital pedometer), Withings scale (digital scale).
Like most people I'm really busy and they make it easy because it collects all of my measurements automatically. They also pull all this together into an easy to understand view over time. They allow me to work with doctor, personal trainer, or dietitian to help me stay on track for my goal. They even use the FatSecret food selections. That way I don't have to buy expensive meal plans, I can use whatever I have at home.
Right now it's free. If you have a fitbit or withings scale it's really easy to get started. If you don't have them you can buy them right from the urgravity site.

I tend to weigh myself almost daily to keep tabs on where I'm standing; such as whether I'm losing, gaining or maintaining. Usually, it's just a causal check up. However, if I ever find myself obsessing, I don't weigh myself because that would be indulging in a negative behavior. You want your weight loss/maintenance to be a natural and relaxed thing, not for it to become horrible - something that you stress over night and day. Weight, like anything you're pressured to do, has a tendency to get stressful, obsessive and out of hand.
For me, I say, as long as my pants still fit I'm doing fine

I kind of agree with EXUMFATS. Thanks! I am gonna try that approach as I dont like to obsess over a pound gained here or there, as long as I dont see steady gains.

And I agree with you about he stress. I do skip the occasional day here or there or maybe two, That is usually because I have eaten a lot the day before (basically broke the diet) and I don't want to see the number.
I can stress about it at times. However, I try to remind myself where is was that I started and where I am today and then cut myself some slack.
I think what bothers me more and what makes me stress is the information out there about how diets don't work and most people put all the weight back on and then some.
I in years past was that person. I don't want it to happen again. That will in itself cause some stress. However, it also keeps me driven and determined to "stay the course" and not be that yo yo anymore.
For the most part I will continue to weigh daily and chart the numbers.

I weigh myself almost everyday. Thanks to water-weight and all that, I'll fluctuate a pound-or-so by the day. This is why I average it out at the end of the week, so as to have a more accurate idea of where I stand.
Don't give up yet, those new skinny jeans are just around the corner....

I weigh myself twice a week, usually Sunday and Wednesday. I want to be aware but not stress over it. I keep a log from each time adding notes for how I feel, what I ate or drank and also body measurements once a month.

THIS IS A TRICKY ONE! IT ALL DEPENDS FOR ME. AS A WOMEN, IT DEPRESSES ME TO SEE MY NUMBERS NOT MOVE, AND LET'S NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT IF THEY'RE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!
I DO AGREE WEIGHING DOES HOLD US RESPONSIBLE, BUT IT CAN ALSO DEFEAT SOME OF US TOO...
EITHER WAY, NO ONE ANSWER WILL BE TRUE FOR EVERYONE.

Anyone using the Fitbit Flex or similar devices?
I have a bodymedia fit and love it. It really helps keep you motivated and focused. It does allow you to sync with a heart rate monitor, but I find it has been a good tool regardless.
