I went to the doc again yesterday for my monthly check up and I've gained 6lbs!! They are at a loss and I am completely frustrated. In September I went from 133-142 WHILE doing the insanity program and 90% clean eating. In October I rose again to 148 and sought help. They ran all labs which were "normal" and prescribed a diet pill that starts with p (forget the name). I have gone back every month with a lb lost here and there but always back up again. I have completed another round of insanity and started a third round last week. I do realize that some of the 20lbs gained could be muscle as I can still wear my jeans - they are just pretty snug. I have tried local endocrinology docs with no luck to get appt. As u have to have referred endo problem. My doc seems to not be listening as she said the suppressants should be working although I have told her several times that food/eating is not my problem. She suggested I do a juice fast, goggles jillian michaels and do a thermogenic. I'm only 32 and we want to have another baby but I can't if my body is storing this much fat Sad has anyone out there had similar issues? How did you stop the gain? Did you find the cause? Were you able to lose the gained lbs?

I do feel your frustration! I am in the same boat in the moment. Last year I started to lose weight & was really happy with the result. In Novemver I changed my eating habbits, I now eat a lot leaner & more protein then ever before & I started weight training. Now my weight is at a high, but my figure is better than it ever was before, although my thighs are bigger then they used to be. If I could give you any advice: Stop the diet pill. You don't need it. Its just a chemical that messes with your body! If food is not your problem & you exercise regularly, let your body do the work & don't poison it with diet pills.

Log your meals. It is easy to think you are eating less than you actually are. Measure out your servings. Not sure why you think you can't have another baby, as you are not that overweight. It's a lot easier to lose the weight when you weigh more. Trying to drop only 20 lbs. may require more drastic dietary changes. If you are eating clean, then maybe drop your calories down some. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Maybe change up your exercise routine. And I would drop the pils - they are only a temporary solution to a more long term situation. And they don't seem to be helping, so why make your liver work harder?

Have you measured your body fat percentage? I know some scales do it, if not machines at the gym. At least that way you could monitor exactly what you are gaining..... personally Im all for muscle gain. Best wishes

I'm with Schmitterlin... dump the diet pills. Pretty well known that they eventually stop working and once you go off them, you'll gain the weight back. My niece did it and was very sorry she even started them.

Diet pills will MESS UP your metabolism. I cant believe a doctor gave them to you! Try reving up your metabolism by eating small meals throughout the day and exercising in the morning and at night to wake it up. I did the South Beach diet and my metabolism LOVED it. I am rarely work out and my weight dropped fast and I have managed to keep it off if I follow just the basics of the program.. no sugar, bread etc. Good Luck. Hang in there.

Unless you have an underlying medical issue relating to pregnancy and body fat, I wouldn't bother with it. My Mum (a midwife) has had pregnant women come to her with BMIs of over 50.

I seriously wish I was joking on that...

And I do agree with the others. Dump the diet pills and record everything you eat. Then find a plan and stick to it.

Personally Ive stopped taking the scales seriously when it comes to getting fit..! I always wanted to lose about a stone in weight to look and feel better about myself,and every time I started to workout (cardio and weight training, jillian michaels DVDs) I'd put on weight. First it was 4 lbs. en an extra 3 on top of that.. Suddenly even thou I'd been exercising and eating well I'd put on 10 lbs in aout two months!! I was horrified at first but realised ,my legs are skinnier and more toned than they've ever been, my bums shaped up nicely as have my arms! My clothes still fit and my stomach feels skinnier, so to hell with what the scale says! It might be worth checking out your body fat percentage but if it's normal I wouldn't worry.. I'm told the scale does eventually start going down again but I'm concentrating on clothes and how I look and it's working for me.. Good luck Smile

Yes kick the pills they don't work and all the other people yes muscle weighs more than fat. What I have realised woman who can't lose weight have PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome)go to your gynaecologist and do an ultra sound to check for cysts. Google PCOS there are thousands of women who suffer from this and don't even know they have it!

I think you should insist to your doc to refer you or check your Hormone levels if they are out of whack it will make you store that fat no matter what you do. Good luck.

Oh yeah Food... absolutely. Thanks to my out-of-what hormones, I gained 100 lbs over 20 years. I began with a saliva test I got online then found a doc who would work with me. My testosterone levels were out of this world. I'm a "she". Was once diagnosed with PCOS. Until I told the doctor I'd had a total hysterectomy in 1990. She didn't believe me when I told her they took the ovaries too.

But hormones will wreck havoc with your weight.

Try Medi-Weight Loss Program. I went from a size 22 to a size 2-3 in 5 mos. Follow the program and u will see results quickly!
