I cannot get foods I've added to the database to show up when others search for them.
Banana Harvest Chewy Granola Bars by Sunbelt Bakery for example. I added these. I can only find them when I search for them. When my husband searches for them he doesn't find anything? Is anyone else having this issue?

I think the DB is having issues because yesterday I searched my bread and it wouldn't come up but then when I search by the company name it showed just fine. They might be in there missing with the code or updating it.
I searched your granola bars and the only one's I found where listed by Rob13.

I've added 4 different things by Sunbelt Bakery. My hubby added 1 so there should be 5 that come up..... Hmmm....

I just searched for "chewy granola bars" and got a ton of results. I added "sunbelt" and the banana harvest bars were about the fourth hit on the list. I tapped "full" and saw at the foot of the page:
The information specified for this food item, including the description and nutritional information, was submitted and shared in the FatSecret food database by member Rob13 on 13 Nov 10.
So apparently they were already in the DB. I don't know what kind of difference that could have made. You're allowing it to be shared, right? That's the default when I add a food, but I'm pretty new here and don't know half the options and settings to guess what other people may have.

Sunbelt is the old version. Sunbelt Bakery is the new updated version. I'm done trying to figure it out. I emailed fatsecret thinking something was wrong. This was the response I got ....
We use complex algorithms to try and ensure that the database search results reflect the most accurate and comprehensive results, so sometimes not all foods submitted by all users appear in the database for everyone. We are constantly iterating our approach so such foods may appear in the future.
What is the point of adding my food for everyone to use if no one but me will see it????

Maybe you can add it in Sunbelt bakery but click the "Restaurant/Fast Food" option. Then, it might be available for everyone. It is not 100% accurate name-wise but at least everyone will be able to see the foods.

This is ironic or perhaps more like moronic.
As example:
Tried searching for dried blueberries on fatsecret and found nothing. But when I google it I found
Google dried blueberries
and clicking those links led me to
Fatsecret??? Dried blueberries

It seems I have to be logged into fatsecret.com not fatsecret.co.za to get full access to all listed foods???
Example:
Dried blueberries. I had to google "fatsecret dried blueberries" to find it because I could not add it directly to my Diet Calendar when logged into fatsecret.co.za

If the old version doesn't exist anymore why don't you just edit it instead of creating another item?

^ Yeah, this...the search function when you've added something is really bad...even the stuff I've added often won't come up. I often end up finding it where I last had it in my food diary click it, then click it's title and then add it to today's food entry. Goodness know's why it's so bad.
