I'm just curious. I know everyone says they stall on the bars. Has anyone ever not been affected weight loss wise, while eating them? I don't eat them often, and if I do, I only have 1/3 or a bite here and there over a few days. I'm bored...entertain me.

they don't do anything to me but i only have one a week. sometimes i'll have two in a week but it still doesn't stall me. i try to cut them up into tiny pieces so i can snack while baking/cooking.

It's only my first week, but I had 1/2 a bar the other night and 1/2 today. As far as the other night it didn't seem to cause any issues. We'll see about tomorrow. But I've lost almost 5 pounds this week, so I'm gonna say no, they don't bother me (as long as I only have a little) for now. The one I ate is the coconut chocolate one (it tastes just like a Mounds Bar). Then I saw it was labeled for Phase 2 and beyond. Oh, well. I was still within all my counts and desperately needed the fiber.
Also, you can't see me, but I'm dancing around with my little bichon dog. Wow - can you believe he just did that? It was awesome. Thanks for joining us for the entertainment portion of the evening.
Comfortable at this size/weight (I really don't want to buy size 0 jeans).
It's not about "weight" or the number on the scale. It's about lean muscle mass and body fat percentage.
At 125 I was a size 8 (after I lost 100+ pounds over 1.5 years).
At 135 I was a size 6 (maintained for several years) and over 28% body fat. I had 97 pounds of lean muscle mass and felt skinny fat.
Now at 140 I am a size 2 and have the smallest measurements I've ever had since I started taking them around the age of 18. I'm at 25% body fat and 107 pounds of lean muscle mass!! I'm no She-Hulk, either.
Don't tell me you aren't losing "weight." That doesn't tell me anything. Tell me how much fat you've lost and how much lean body mass you've gained. Here's a good start to estimate:

Same as Psk1414...generally 1/day of a specific type and no difference. I've even tried dropping them for a week or so trying to keep everything else the same (as much as possible) and no difference.

Thanks for the article. I read a lot about it previously as well. But from personal experiences, is it stalling? I think that there is an article or research project or study on just about any topic that will show agreement with anyone's opinion. Like atkins diet for example. There's studies proving it's good, and studies saying it's not. it's ridiculous. This is why i only look so far into studies.

Very interesting thread, thank you. I am surprised at the responses from ones not stalling on Atkins products. I for one sure did (I know that's not the answer you're looking for) and interesting and glad to see there are peeps that aren't. ~tig

I eat them all the time, probably 1 (2 if I'm feeling exceptionally desperate!) a day during the work-week, and I stash them in my purse when I'm out and about in case I get peckish. (I don't seem to have much of the "other" issues with sugar alcohols at all, actually.) But man, they tear my DH up. He has to be really careful how much of my sugar-free snacks he steals. I would think that it's just like any other food--some people are affected, others aren't...

I do just fine with them. I'm a florist and sometimes on event days I'm to busy to stop and have a meal, so I'll have a couple of atkins bars as my meals on the go. I did that this past Saturday and lost 1.8 pounds from the time I got up till the time I got home!!! O.O Everyone's bodies are different and respond differently to sugar alcohols and soy. Thank goodness mine doesn't totally hate them!

I'm kinda not sure because I stopped eating them about a week ago (ran out) and while I was eating them, I was losing slowly. Soon as I ran out, my weight plummeted (check out my food diary and weight log)... but I just don't know if it's the bars or not, because I still eat sugar alcohols(Breyers Carb Smart Chocolate) and it didn't hurt me at all...

I haven't stalled on them, but I do find they make me crave sweets a little more often. When I don't eat them I don't feel the need for anything sweet, but whenever I have one I do want more. So I just eat them on occasion.
The MIM on the otherhand... Totally addicted have one for breakfast everyday. I really love them.

I found that if I had more than one a day my weight loss slowed. Maybe not stalled but definately slowed. Then when I went back to 0 or 1 a day it started to pick up again. It seems different for everyone. Just find what is best for you. Induction is not only a two week thing, you can repeat it. I am working all the kinks out of my Induction phase now and then going all out the following two weeks.
And I would love to look at bcbloyd's food diary. WOW!!!!

I always stall and have issues with Adkins products. Also knocked me out of ketosis. I have tried sugar free candies and have the same effect only I immediately CRAVE sweets again. Very bad for me. Now I have to try to get back into ketosis. I feel the best when I am there

Swollen ankles???
I did Atkins for 2 years, but am not on it now, however this may be helpful. I had swollen ankles.Just being overweight puts extra strain on the circulatory system and by the end of the day water pools ...
