The tapping method is the Callahan technique used also in Croatia to relieve people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Either method will work to stop cravings, but you have to use it regularly and you have to REMEMBER to continue to use it. That is my biggest hurdle- remembering to apply the knowledge.
