Scales don't like to be moved. Leave it on a hard floor. If its non digital they can vary depending on where you stand and weight displacement. Make sure you stand on it in the same place. I got rid of mine and purchased a digital scale

I have a weight watchers one (though I've never done weight watchers) that is great. It's very accurate and consistent, and once you set a user profile, it will keep track of how much you've lost and how much you have to lose to achieve your goal.

My wight fluctuates depending on what time of the day I get on the scales. So if I weigh myself after I've had my two mugs of green tea, I'm heavier. Makes sense I suppose.I now weigh myself first thing in the morning. I got digital scales which also give your body fat and BMI. It's nice to see them all reducing (when they do Smile

I have the same problem.. Mine is a digital scale. I can step on it immediately after and it will fluctuate anywhere up to 10 lbs.. i can step on it 3 times, one right after each other and get a different number every time.. I have been thinking of buying a new one recently..

I'm pretty happy with this:

Keep it simple, stay away from digital scales. There's a reason most doctors still use non-digital scales after all these years, they are simply the most accurate!

I have a different version of the one fredmugs has. I've been happy with it. The Body fat % is not accurate, but good tool to make sure you are at least trending in the right direction. I find my scale to be accurate - if you question it, take a 5 or 10 lb bag of sugar/flour and weigh it to make sure it is correct. Doctor's scales are not all they are cracked up to be - they aren't always calibrated and often not used correctly by office staff. Scales are not meant to be moved around much, so if you can find a place to stick and leave it, that is best. Really, just using the same scale from day to day gives you the best idea if you are moving in the right direction.

* on My Diet Calendar
jwill77nc2 is correct. Also, if there is NO asterisk (*) after the food or exercise then that number will not be counted in the Challenges and Contests and Mini Challenges this program offers.
