personally I prefer to keep track also on days in which I allow myself to go over my calorie budget, it is a habit that keeps me on track and let me know how much I need to recover later

Hmmmm - The great binge. I have them as well. Although mentally satisfying I do not like seeing the scale go up and having to work my butt off to get back to where it was before the binge. Seems to go like this - Binge one night = gain 3 / 4 lbs = takes a week to get it off. Makes no sense to me. Anyway I do it I think mostly to keep my sanity and because my body is craving stuff I have long deprived myself of. Enjoy - Just get back on track the next day.

I find that a binge day 4000+ cals doesn't really have any affect on my weight as long as I keep up my training.
Over Xmas despite eating loads more than usual over a couple of weeks I kept up my training and probably only gained a pound or 2 which went when I went back to my normal diet in about a week, so no biggie

I had pizza yesterday and I can almost feel the glycogen filling up those deflated fat cells. Even though I stayed close to my deficit intake, I know the scale will see all that water and glycogen.
Glad I don't weigh everyday.

4,000+ calories for your binge day is still alot...I may eat a pizza slice or two or add more pasta on my cheat meal..never a day and I still keep track.

Maybe 4000 seems high but on a training day I often burn 3000 calories so over the week it doesn't impact, esp if I'm under or maintaining the rest of the time.
When I want to cheat. Boy do I cheat
Barbecue ribs, fries, Hagen das ice cream and popcorn and bottle of fruit cider...my death row final meal right there

I thought the whole idea of a cheat day is to eat all you possibly can, not have to count, and not plan on burning exactly what you ate. I think that if you eat one day 4000+ calories, your body doesn't really absorb it all. There is a limit of how much of it stays, so the whole idea that once you eat over that amount, there is no point in stopping - might as well go all out and kill those cravings for the future.

I would not necessarily recommend 2000 calories. Use the calculator, to make sure. The RDI (recommend det daily intake) varies a LOT from person to person. If you feel that you want a faster weight loss ...
