Because of my exercise restrictions I don't exercise. So I have to rely on my diet to lose weight. I haven't watched my calorie intake for so long, because I had given up and didn't think it would be possible to lose weight without the exercise part. I am really glad to know I was wrong and am very happy to see my weight going down.

i have a friend with exercise restrictions who really benefitted from Qi Gong, which can be done standing, sitting or lying down. It greatly improved her health and her injuries healed so fast the doctors were amazed. Best of luck!

I have exercise restrictions too. After I finished physical therapy (because my insurance allotment for PT for the fiscal year had run out), I asked if I could join just the pool in the facility where I was going for PT. Since I have been continuing my PT exercises (plus added more) regularly in the warm pool, I have managed to remain relatively pain-free since shortly after Christmas, even though I still need a hip replacement and have limited range of motion on dry land. It's been a real godsend, and not being in pain constantly motivates me to keep going. Now, only if I could get motivated to be more consistent with healthy eating!

I too am very limited in the excercise I get, recently I have been very fortunate to be able to go swimming once a week, I have always enjoyed swimming but it is amazing how I have needed to relearn how to swim now, because one leg just gets towed along behind me. Sometimes it feels as though this leg is trying to drown me and has developed a mind of its own, a very evil mind some days!!!!!! Apart from my weekly outing I do not get the normal excercise that most people get just doing a bit of housework or walking the dog, or cooking etc. I have been averaging about 1600 calories a day, no real sacrifice there and have lost about 10lbs this month. Even if it settles at 7lb a month that is still 84lbs in a year and if I can aim for a heady 2lbs a week that is over 100lbs a year. I think I am happy with that sort of a loss, I know pleny of people on here aim for 15lb a month or even 4lb a week but firstly that is not realistic and risks getting demotivated and secondly it doesn't give much time to adjust to a new shspe/weight or to the change in peoples attitudes which can be quite scary
Sometimes the only thing in life that you can control is what you put in your mouth!
