In July 2012 I finally decided to do something about my weight. For years I researched the best approach but never really acted on it. I decided to start easy. I have just been counting calories. It's really that simple. I travel for work, which means I eat out every night of the week. So, I eat whatever I want (yes, even the occasional ice cream) but the key is watching how much I eat. I was averaging roughly a 10 lb. loss each month. There were two months that I did not see those same results because I tried Hydroxycut. I was surprised the diet pills actually stopped my progress. But it is what it is, and now I'm back to my routine.
Last week, I decided to add exercise to my weight loss plan. It went fairly well despite the fact that I have not really exercised in years. I hope to see even more improvements throughout the year.
I believe support systems are important and would love to find people on here to share the weight loss journey with. I am hoping to find people that are active members and do not mind keeping each other accountable.

Feel free to add me as a buddy! There are also a lot of groups on here, some more active than others, that you could join to meet more of the members! Good luck to you!
Someone who is busier than you is working out right now.
There will come a day when you can no longer do this. Today is
not
that day.

Hello. You are welcome to add me as a buddy. I too agree completely that support systems are a vital part of this weight loss journey, no matter how much or how little you need to loose the journey remains the same!
Good luck to you.

Feel free to add me, as well. And good on you for adding exercise. We can all lose weight if we change our eating, but the exercise gets us toned and helps keep the weight off. I had neck surgery in August, 2011 and could only eat applesauce and mushy vegetables. I lost 20 pounds in two months, but no exercise. Of course, when I went back to "normal" eating, it all came back on. Now I'm working out 4-5 days a week and I am confident the weight will come off and STAY off.

Hello, Mary from Melb, Oz here. An ex-ballroom dancer who would like to strut her stuff again. I hope your weightloss and health journey is a successful one. Feel free to add me on your friends list. Will help any way I can.
Cheers
Mary
If at first I seem a little weird, then it's pretty likely I am.

I would not necessarily recommend 2000 calories. Use the calculator, to make sure. The RDI (recommend det daily intake) varies a LOT from person to person. If you feel that you want a faster weight loss ...
