Hey there. I'm 30, and I'm currently between cycles of Clomid to make myself ovulate so I can get pregnant. I'm frustrated by my PCOS- I am 130 lbs above my "ideal" weight, and I have never been a successful dieter. I just KNOW someone out there has to be in the same position, trying to get your fertility back by getting your Insulin resistance under control... so far, I am not even prediabetic, but I don't want to go there. And the fact that my first round of Clomid failed makes me and my husband think that my only hope is weight loss. Join me and let's tackle this beast head-on!

I'm with you. My husband and I are going to our infertility clinic to get started on trying to get pregnant a second time later this month. I did this a few years ago and eventually had luck getting pregnant with my son who will be 2 this week. I have to do clomid, estrogen, and progesterone. My husband has to take clomid too. Then, only an IUI is what has worked too. I'm going to try and keep with my diet and exercise program while trying to get pregnant and at least stay with the food but increase the 1500 calories if and when we do get preggers. If you are interested, send me a buddy request.

Have heart, ladies. PCOS is manageable. Like you, I struggled with clomid, metformin, injections, daily blood tests, and other painful testing procedures. In the end, though, I was able to get pregnant after I lost some weight. Whether it was the weight loss that finally did it, or if that just helped, or not, why not be in the best shape you can be? For me, at least, there was no better motivation to lose the weight.

Take heart, have faith, and lose carefully and slowly. Don't deplete your body of the other good things you need to carry that baby once you conceive him/her. Don't starve yourself, but eat healthy, whole foods and move around as much as you can.

I'll be praying for you!
