Zumba seems to be the theme here! I love it. Our YMCA offers it mon-fri. Last week I made it 4 of the 5 days. It is sooo much fun and a great workout

I highly recommend zumba as well! I lost 20 lbs in a few months, and loved it so much I became an instructor! It is very addicting, and it makes you feel good about yourself and sexy no matter what you look like!
Just like any exercise program, though, it is about what you put into it. I see people really working and others just going through the motions. So remember, if you love it, you will stick with it, and if you stick with it, push yourself and you will see results, no matter what exercise you are doing!

I know this is cheesy but it works. Before I got sick, I started the last time with this and only made it thru 10 mins but built up to the full tape. Richard Simmons Sweating to the oldies and #2. He is so funny/goofy that I just smile and laugh, the time just flys by and I can do it in my own living room. It also gave me the energy to start doing floor excersises and run/walking/jogging two times per day. You can probably pick up a copy at your local thrift store for next to nothing.

I love Wii Gold's Gym Dance workout. It is the first workout that I actually look forward too and am shocked when it is over! (My heart is pounding and I'm dripping with sweat but I am so into it I want to go another round.)

hey! I am looking for an EASY TO FOLLOW dance workout. What is a fun dance workout dvd that is easy to follow?
I really like dance workouts, and I can generally follow the individual moves, but once they start linking them all together into choreography, I start to mess up and get frustrated.
I have several dance workouts I never use because I always get confused as to what they are doing or I feel I have bad form no matter how many times I try.
I bought Denise austin Dance Body Burn and Pilates because she is always so easy to follow, but even that one got confusing after a while.
I am not too coordinated when things get complex, I prefer to do one move at a time, then move on to the next.
Thank you for your response!

After all the Zumba comments I have to stick one more vote out there for Jazzercise. I wear a heart rate monitor when I go and I consistently burn 320-420 calories in an hour. The intensity varies by instructor in my area, the main lady is awesome, but she has a newer instructor that doesn't keep the pace as high. Over time Jazzercise definitely covers all the different muscle groups and keeps up with new, good music. When one of the Katie Perry songs came out I heard it at Jazzercise before I heard it on the radio!

Zumba will give you a work out but be careful with your knees. Some of the steps can twist ligaments. Be sure to wear shoes that will alow you to twist without too much friction. I made the mistake of wearing rather new crosstrainers sith plently of traction and twisted my knee. It did not show up until 2-3 days later when I was in pain.

As a zumba instructor I had to chime in. It does depend on your fitness level...but you can burn anywhere from 300-700 calories in a Zumba class. It only depends on the instrutor and how intense they are. I have taken a lot of classes with instructors from everywhere and each one was different. The last time I wore a monitor, I clocked in 595 during a 55min class. So I encourage everyone to try various instructors if they can.

I was zumba certified and the instructors are supposed to face the class, not the mirror. This goes into finding a good instructor. You'll also burn and insane amount of calories (I burn 700 in one hour) because you not only dance but use your own body weight to workout. If you have an instructor that follows the zumba formula, you'll jump and do squats during the dance routine but it won't feel like it. Zumba is a watered down version of Latin dancing so anyone can do it. Go to zumba.com and you can find local classes.

I recently purchased Zumba fitness for my Wii. Iactually just got done working out. I'm still cooling down and I finished about 10 minutes ago. I love it, it's hard to learn the dance moves, but that doesn't even bother me because I'm having so much fun moving that I don't care what I look like. LOL! It's just nice to have something fun to get me off the couch! If you like to move your hips and shake it up, Zumba it awesome. Whether you go to a class or buy the game and workout in the privacy of your home, it will be a great workout.

Im definitely on team zumba but you really do have to find a good instructor. I thought I liked the instructor at my gym but I attended a free week at the ymca and she was AMAZING. But the overall theme is finding something that you like and will stick to! Are you a member of a gym? Willing to join if not? Do you have any game systems or willing to invest in one? I like being able to get up first thing in the morning and dance in my underwear with my kinect or wii, I also like the group aspect of a class because it gets you pumped and you may make a few friends. I've never been a fan of dvds, they just get boring too fast and I don't have the motivation to finish, game systems give you feedback and a "score" which I love. It's all up to you honey, try some things out. Many gyms will let you sample classes take advantage! Ask some girlfriends to borrow their dvds to see what you like.

I love T-tapp work out. It has great stretching, dancing, ballet, & jazz moves. It is easy on your back & knees. In 3 weeks i have lost 22 inches! It takes some time to get the movies down because you use your left and right brain. Teresa Tapp also has us use multiple muscles so you begin to burn body fat in 15min instead of the normal 20!
