A great jumping-off point for info is -LCHF For Beginners

I'm never hungry or feel deprived and blood sugar is constant - no spikes!

Calories are not all created equal!

Well I thought high cholesterol is just influenced by the things you eat atm. And no long terms...

You need a better doctor if your doctor told you that. It's blatantly untrue.

That link is nothing but scams.

The LCHF doctors I've read say that the standard Drs office LDL test is meaningless. They say that LDL particle size is what is important, small LDL particle size is damaging, large LDL particle size is not damaging. Consistant LCHF eaters often have large (non-damaging) LDL particles but on a standard Drs office test their LDL will read high. While there are tests that evaluate particle size, most Drs do not know about them or do them.

three months on LCHF and my cholesterol is down to better than normal with a 3 to 1 ratio, triglycerides at .3

hmm... i'm thinking the high cholesterol for life statement is a COS (crock of $hit)

but...I do know that dealing with drs & your cholesterol #s is a huge pain. Mine were high & my dr FREAKED & wanted me on meds that day..I was 22! They have gone down a bit but still high for most drs, but I feel good & figure I'll trust my body & keep doing my thing. I really wish I would of tested all these things BEFORE starting a low carb diet bc I'm willing to bet that even though I'm still high, they're probably a LOT lower than they were when I was living off of beer & jack in the box..but thats just my view on it.
