If it fits in your schedule and it agrees with you, why not? I could not do a very heavy workout late at night, but I don't do workouts like that anymore.

What I've heard, is that in the morning it energizes you to start your day, but in the night sometimes that energy could make you have problems to sleep. If that doesn't happen with you, then go ahead! At any time it's better than at no time..

As long as you don't eat immediately before or after a workout then like the others say it depends what works for you. I used to swim at the late night women only session & I found it made me relax very well for sleep, I found the gym didn't work late at night so I used to go there at 6am before work. There are no rules about all this, the not eating immediately before or after is because its bad for your stomach but otherwise you will soon know if you are doing right or not

Some people say working out within 4 hours of going to bed can make it harder to sleep, but I haven't really noticed this to be a problem.

I have heard and read the same. I do believe it can be an issue for some as is coffee late at night. Try it. If you can not sleep you will have to do it early in the morning before work.
