For all those who are new, this site will work for you if you put in the effort. Log your calories in as often as possible to get an accurate account of what you're eating. If you need help put a post out there, this site has so many great people who are willing to give advice or just a kind word to those who need it. I think that exercise is important too, even if you start small and work your way up to longer periods of time or going further faster, or whatever your exercise goals may be. Have fun with it, try new foods and exercise, do this with a friend or loved one, get the family involved. You can all do this, best of luck!! This is your journey, own it!
Goal 3: 125 whenever I get there
Goal 2(restart): 130 by May 25th (2013 vacation)
Goal 1: 135 by May 24th (2012)~~~~Accomplished!

You have to click on myfatsecret tab, then select enter food, once there choose add button (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc.).Now you will see a search area, enter the name of your food item, you will get a list of foods that are associated with your search but at the bottom of this list there is an add food button, click that button and enter the nutrition information yourself, good thing is the system will save it for you so you only need to do this once per food item. I hope this helps.

I'm new too. I am new to online fitness support period. I've logged in before, but I didn't stay logging in. I think if I view it as a social network, geared specifically towards getting healthy,it might have a better result, haha. Because I never skip a beat with my fb,lol. Trying to find a couple friends. I entered a challenge too

Anyone using the Fitbit Flex or similar devices?
I have a bodymedia fit and love it. It really helps keep you motivated and focused. It does allow you to sync with a heart rate monitor, but I find it has been a good tool regardless.
