Hi all. I'm going to an amusement park tomorrow and i can't think of anything that would be available there besides maybe salad. But i'm sick of salad! I'm on a low carb, high protein diet. I'd prefer not to have to haul food with me. Thanks for any tips.

I think it's dieting law that you pig out on Amusement Park days.
Seriously though, unless you're going to Universal or Disney, a big place that has real restaraunts in addition to their park food stands, you're not going to find anything remotely healthy.
It's one day and one day isn't going to kill you. Going to the Amusement Park is all about having fun. Use that as an excuse to have a cheat day! It'll be awesome!!!
But, if you feel you MUST eat something healthy, if you get a burgre or a hot dog, either only eat half the bun or throw the whole bun out. This will be a good and healthy way to cut some serious carbs out your diet for the day.

Alot of amusement parks normally have grilled chicken sandwiches and burgers. You could order that and then take the bun off. Some also offer deli sandwiches, you can follow the same concept.
You should be able to look at the amusement park's website for their dining options, and then plan ahead. I don't tend to cheat if I already have my meal planned because I've thought about it long enough I'm looking forward to it!
Hope you have a great time tomorrow!

Yup I'm with grab a burger, wrap or chicken sandwich and just ditch the bread. Depending on the park you may be able to sneak in snacks lol. They look in our bags but if you wrap them in the middle of a folded towel or clothes they rarely look. I hate to admit it but I even resorted to filling clean sunscreen bottles with nuts, I have since gotten a sneaky one with a false bottom that fits other things. Rediculous that you have to do these things huh? If you are active at the park you will burn off a lot I'm sure so give in a bit. Just think and make a better choice if the perfect one isn't available.

Turkey legs are an amusement park staple. They are just roasted meat, but they are not a very low-fat option if you monitor that. They are also extremely large and filling! I used to work in amusement parks so I know how hard it is to find something good. A lot of parks have themed restaurants now. Find a mediterranean place and you will find a lot of options

I would try to grab a Chicken Wrap or a sandwich, I know it is very hard to go, and smell all the foods that we can't have. You will have fun and find something for yourself to eat.

You really think you'll find a salad at an amusement park?? Maybe Disney World, but other than that, I can't imagine it! Maybe a deli sandwich? Very high in sodium though.... - Good luck!!!

I treated myself a little bit with some dippin' dots and french fries, but i did remove the bun from my burger and didn't eat the chips in my walking taco. I felt like I was eating real food again but still had the low carb idea in the back of my mind. It was a great weekend!

Fruit
Can you do yogurt? A friend recommended to me plain yogurt with splenda mixed in. Maybe try that with some berries. I've been putting frozen raspberries in my protein shake.
