Hi, I am one month into this diet and I have already lost 9lbs and 2 pant sizes. I have been in the Ketosis state for 3 weeks and I feel so much better and have more energy. I do believe this is a good lifestyle. I started by reading posts and talking to people in Reddit.com/r/keto

Here are some links to articles and resources I have found.

Dancinteacher, please let me know how you are doing on LCHF. At first everything I read was very counter intuitive to what I have been taught in the last. But after reading and watching videos I am convinced that this and Paleo is a better lifestyle.

You are right it seems so counter intuitive. It goes against everything I've been taught since I was a kid. However I am losing something daily...Here I am on day 5 and I am down from 160 to 156.4 Amazing considering I don't feel hungry! My first couple of days though I felt a little nauseous, tired and head-achy. Confused Looked through some of the sites you posted and saw that adding some broth might help...it did. Very Happy I told myself that I am going to stick with this for 3 months, no matter what to give it a fair shot.

Hey Ripp and Dancinteacher. Im new to this too. I only joined 3 days ago although been following a low carb diet for the past 3 1/2 weeks. I haven't weighed myself because my scales give me a different reading each time i get on them within the space of 5 mins. So I dont weigh at the moment. Im loving this LCHF diet. Im have today got back into my next size down jeans again which is great. I could put a fist inside the side of my jeans yesterday and they looked daft so im pleased to have dropped a size. Im in Devon in UK. Where are you guys?

Hi Totally Brilliant! I am in Florida US. I am glad to hear you are doing so well. I can't believe how easy this has been for me after I recovered from the keto flu. Keep up the progress and let us know when you complete milestones. It is good to help about other's success. So what is your favorite LCHF food? I would love to hear about and see what people eat in the UK.

Hi all from So. California. I've been doing LCHF for 10 weeks now and love it. I don't remember the last time I could say I loved a "diet" ten weeks in! I have energy, my appetite is more in control than ever before, and I have a sense of calm. its pretty great. My clothes are definitely big now. Like Totally I am not weighing myself - I get too emotionally attached to the scale and start doing stupid things to make the dial move, so this time I'm just not going on. Maybe a year from now when I can fit into the college jeans I will get on the scale.

Food wise, I enjoy an avocado, I find it very filling. When I absolutely need a sweet I buy a small container of cream cheese and sweeten with artificial sweetener and vanilla extract, its like instant cheese cake. While I don't want to do this too often (it does raise blood sugar slightly for me) it has really saved me from those old ice cream binges of the past.

He he. Look at this Im talking to you guys over there. Great isn't it. Me too. I have tried low fat diet and it was a struggle to shift any weight. This is easy. I love it. I too feel so alert and alive it's infectious. I love whipping cream with blueberries. I always have my white egg omlette every morning with cheddar cheese in. I don't eat the egg yolk as not so keen on this. I eat lots of chicken and avacado's. I eat a handful of almonds everyday after my omlette. Still trying to find my way around this site. Speak to you ladies soon. Smile

Hi Totally Brilliant. I've decided to give this a go as well after reading your post on Nutracheck earlier. It does seem to go against everything you're ever told but it makes so much sense when you look into it more. How many carbs to you allow yourself each day? Is it 30gms?

mmm, avocados are awesome! Someone on another site said they fried up some bacon till it was crispy, then used the crispy bacon as chips and ate it with guacamole. I have been enjoying different berries with cream and a tablespoon of coconut oil blended....(I love smoothies) My Bf and I are doing this together and he found the yummiest thick sliced bacon...mmmmm. I'm growing kale and chard and we cooked some of that up last night with coconut oil and bacon grease. yum! And I made a pork roast the other day. I can't believe I'm actually losing weight and I am so not hungry! lol....Like I said in another post it is so counter intuitive but it's working! Can't wait to post how I am doing and feeling after I have been doing this for longer! And "Totally"... I am impressed that you can stay off the scale. I weigh myself when I get up every morning! (at least I'm consistent!) Thanks for the cream cheese idea I will have to try that treat!

Hi Foxx's mum. Nice to see someone actually followed what I was trying to get at on Nutracheck. I allow myself between 25 and 30 grams of carbs per day. And Dancinteacher I would be on the scales every day if i had a reliable set of scales. I have now bought 3 sets this year and they are body fat analyser scales and they just go weird when i get on them. They can read a difference of half a stone each time i get on and off. Thats 3 different makes too. So i sick of trying to weigh myself. I wish i had a set that were reliable. Which ones do you use?

Totally brilliant, I use health o meter model BFM790DQ-60 A312BN I find it to be pretty accurate. No crazy fluctuations if I weigh myself again a minute later. It tells your % body fat, BMI and % water. It weighs only in pounds though. You can also put in your beginning weight info.....and save your results as you lose (up to 20 saves I think)

I really need a new scale as well. I have to weigh myself multiple times and take the average. Not good.

Hi richy6, I am doing keto, it works for me, all the fat really satisfies my appetite without raising my blood sugar (even too much protein raises my blood sugar.)
