Don't sweat it. If everybody worried about the opinions of idiots nobody would ever leave the house.
And I'll bet most people would notice your eyes before anything else

There are some rather large ladies in that list of photos, however there are some ladies in that photo slide show that I would not consider fat at all.

Everyone is different, but I think you should wear it with pride!!

Regards
Jason

Okay, kinda embarassing, but I google stuff alot. With the heat around here, and the holiday coming up, I'm getting nervous about baring all in bikini in public. I've worn one twice in the past week, but just in front of my cousin, and a friend.

So I googled for a while 'how fat is too fat for a bikini' Lame, I know. But I have insecurities - big time. I have a number of naturally skinny friends, one of whom made the comment the other day about there being alot of 'reverse body dysmorphia' at the waterpark. Meaning lots of fat people in swimsuits that were too revealing, in her opinion. I'm still probably gonna do it at least one of the days, but not sure which I'll go with - the tiny triangle top that is red, white & blue...or a more full-coverage set without the patriotic theme.

Anyways, I also came up on this link: (might not be suitable for work) Fat Chicks in Bikinis. The sad sad sad part is at least 3 of the girls that they are calling out as 'FAT' look to be my size or smaller. Definitely don't belong in with the rest of the 500+ pound photos. Seriously look at #16, 21, & 32. People can be such jerks. Those are not Fat Girls in Bikinis.

I put on the two-piece suits all last week. Sunday even in front of 2 relatively new male friends. Of course, THAT's the time the clasp on the top half broke. Whoops! A little more sun exposure than I intened. I guess in addition to worrying how I look in a bikini I also have to been concerned how I'd look OUT OF ONE! lol.

I think the way people look in bikinis/lingerie/spider-man costumes all depends on attitude.
If you feel that you look good in it, then you do. If you DON'T feel that you look good, well... then the energy drops from the outfit and you just don't look as good.
No hot outfit can make up for an insecure person. On the other hand, no ugly outfit can kill the looks of a person with the guts to wear it with pride.

I agree with you, Jess. I wouldn't consider 16, 21 or 32 "fat", and I agree with Keld, too. Your personality and beauty are your assets - the rest of the package you carry off with your attitude!

Came across this slideshow yesterday. Show it to your skinny friend and enjoy your day on the beach.

Ingria I saw that on the Today Show today. I'm sure there are still some products like that today. There are still people who can't put on weight. A college roommmate, my boss's secretary. Being called too "skinny" can be a hurtful label too. Slim, slender, trim etc. all sound better. Just like fat gals perfer curvy, volumptous, full-figured...

Yep, I don't know why it's not acceptable to tell someone they are fat when they feel justified in telling others they are too skinny!! Yelling "eat a cheeseburger!!" can be just as hurtful to someone that's naturally super thin as someone that's overweight..

Oh well, you cannot be politically correct enough these days. Did not mean to offend anybody, I just had some fun looking at the ads and reflecting on how our perceptions change. Obviously there are people who cannot gain weight and some of them have medical issues too, know that first hand. But I also recall how my mother-in-law (who was not underweight by todays standards) told me about drinking heavy cream and eating lots of butter to add weight before wedding. In the beginning of last century having a little bit of extra fat was considered to be healthy and desirable for a young woman. Every age has it's own standard, that is all I meant. Enjoy your bodies, and do not listen to anybody who tries to put you down regardless of your size and shape.

I'm with you, Ingria!! I hadn't even read your post when I posted mine, I was just on my phone and saw Jess' comment and went from there.. I wasn't aiming my thoughts at you..

It's definitely crazy how perceptions change and how drastic of an impact the media can have on what is considered 'stylish' or attractive...
