Just discovered that warming up a cup of broth and drinking it can alleviate the hollow hungry feelings between meals. I can buy this in 8 oz. cartons and drink the whole thing, consuming only 20 calories. You just need to be aware of sodium content if that is a issue for you.

exactly! And my choice would def. be the chicken broth over chicken noodle soup any day. I warm it up pour it in a coffee cup and it is so warm and takes the hunger way. just makes you feel warm and cozy Smile When people ask what im drinking i just say hot tea. - i get allot of voices when it comes to me and my diet LOL

I've been doing that, too, tho i've slowed on it since summer got here... i would have it in the morning instead of coffee, too, sometimes, because i'm not good at eating when i wake up...

Nice! I keep light string cheese for when I am truly hungry between meals. It's 60 calories, so not totally diet busting.

What do you mean by "broth" - is that a stock cube dissolved or what?

Instant miso soup from the asian section is about fifty calories and does the same thing for me, and is soo good.

Thanks for a reminder about broth. I LOVE soups, and used to drink broth all the time too. Need to get back to it again.

Good idea. I'm not a huge fan of the broth in a can by itself, but I do like some of the packets that have a little more seasoning in them. Those may have a few more calories but may help keep me from eating a worse snack, especially now as the temps are going down.

Love the broth too. I trade it out with hot water with lemon... works too... without the sodium.

Hi I realize these are old posts but thought I'd respond anyway, in case other newbies come here to this forum. I don't care for broth by itself ... reminds me of when I would get sick. haha. But, I do like it if I use reduced sodium vegetable broth, with a handful or two of my fave frozen veggies. Like frozen broccoli, kale, peppers, onions etc. Great filling power and for negligible cals.

I like cutting chives into my chicken broth and adding a shake of soy sauce. I agree, as the weather cools, it's a great tide-me-over if there's still an hour before the next meal.
