Ive been getting headaches everyday since starting the program. Today so far no headache, But it might come back later, I can feel it barely there. I hope it stops for good soon, that way I can exercise ect...

Chicken broth (the kind that comes in a box)! It's suggested as a cure for the early Atkins headaches, and sure enough, it worked for me (and not a moment too soon, headaches were awful!)!
I gladly accept new Atkins buddies!

Lisa Kay thank you, yesterday was my first day i followed induction, not so good because it says i ate 50 percent in carbs (still need to figure that out), yet the headache in the evening and today in the morning is terrible, will definitely try the chicken stock

Same happened to me, if you add just a bit more fat from oils or heavy cream and carbs from maybe broccoli or salad it will help.
Remember to aim for % breakdown, not necessarily calories. Ex. I eat 60-70% fat, 35-25% protein, 5% carbs (sometimes it creeps up to 7or 8% of carbs and that's fine, I still lose weight on those days, just try to keep it below 10%)
It is not enough to take steps which may some day lead to a goal; each step must be itself a goal and a step likewise

i want to clarify it was 34 percent of carbs not 50 percent yesterday, in my mind when the graph shows me ive eaten more than 10 percent carbs i stop eating and end up eating below my RDI
goal 1 = 240
goal 2 = 220
goal 3 = 200
goal 4 = 180

lol, me too at first, but that's when you need to start trying to adjust the percentage. What I try to do is to record everything I've eaten before dinner and then I cook whatever will level the % out.
Like yesterday, I had to eat my broccoli at night because not enough carbs during the day, but I also had to add some olive oil to level out the protein and carbs. The food tool on this website is pretty good for calculating your intake. Don't stress about RDI though, on Atkins if you go over RDI but have the correct breakdown you still lose weight.

DDeanna, try not to go wildly over RDI, but I don't think calories really make a difference on Atkins and other ketogenic diets as long as you keep your balance right.
Don't forget to eat plenty of good fats though, to me it's been the fats that have made a real difference. I guess I was eating too low fat and that tends to add hidden carbs. As long as carbs are 10% or less of your nutritional balance you should do fine.
Good luck

DDeanna-if you are having headaches try and drink more water. Many of the high protein items we eat are loaded with sodium which can cause dehydration. Also, the lack of sugar and/or caffeine can cause the headaches. They eventually go away, but make sure you are drinking LOTS of water. Best wishes to you

Low carbing can be very dehydrating. Protein breakdown and fat breakdown require water. Make sure you are well hydrated. A good rule of thumb is to drink a minimum of your weight in kg in oz of water. If you weigh 80 kg then drink 80oz of water..minimum. If you exercise drink more water in addition to that. Headaches should be a thing of the past.

Swollen ankles???
Asparagus?!?!?!?!? Good to know, we have a HUGE asparagus patch in our back yard. Even though I am overweight, I have always had small ankles. Very weird!
