So i use to drink pepsi at least 2 liters a day then i became quite ill and it tasted like molasses. Among other things they descovered i was diabetic. HMMM maybe because after taking a steroid puffer i became so ill i went to the hospital and my sugar was 28 which i believe is around 500 US. So now i drink coke zero. Thing is as a result you would think i would have lost weight but nooooooo. Now i understand i was sick for about a month and it has taken about two month to back to the old me and rebuild my muscle mass. And yes i eat slightly more but not nearly as many calories as my liquid sugar. This is not the first time either i thought about 15 years ago if i switshed to diet i would lose weight tried it for a month and nothing. Anyone have the same trouble or any insight

You should stop drinking soda all together. both kinds, diet and regular are terrible for dieters. For your health and weight loss, try cutting back on soda. I know its hard, I have quit soda two times in my life, but I know you can do it!!

I took an excedrin first thing in the morning for two or three days to wean myself off the caffeine. I feel so much better and so much less tired that when i was drinking soda.

Since I started dieting with FatSecret I decided to drop soda altogether. I don't have an addictive personality as I've smoked cigarettes for a week and when I decided to stop I didn't really feel a withdrawal.

But for one thing, after you stop drinking soda you definitely feel a lot more lively within a week or two, atleast I felt like that. I think just the thought that your body is getting rid of something so gross like High Fructose Corn Syrup and different chemicals just makes you feel 'cleaner' I guess.

Snugles, taking a quick look at your diet calendar, I'd suggest trying to reduce your sodium to under 2000mg a day and seeing if cutting back on carbs helps (under 150g of carbs is great, but aim for 150-200g right now). Those changes may get the scale moving in the right direction. Diet soda has a lot of sodium in it, and having too much sodium can result in a lot of water retention to the point where you won't see the scale move. You also seem to be inconsistently tracking so you may be taking in more calories than you think. Lastly, I would suggest eating more veggies. Replace some of your snacks like popcorn, chocolate and twizzlers with veggies and make sure you have a veggie at every meal. They will fill you up for not a lot of calories.

I was away for a while. I got really sick then ended up being diabetic too. But I am back. My cals are down 200-500 daily. I am not concern with the salt as my bp is extremely good and i check it regularly. Yes salts not good for you but not my #1 concern and besides i lose alot sweating at work. The carb well believe it or not the doc had me eating well over 200 til i told her its too much food and she showed me how to adjust my insulin. Carbs are still a little high for me right now but gotta keep my blood sugar up until i can adjust again. Your are right about the veggie and i do love veggis but there is no room in my belly for more..maybe when i adjust. This is all get advice though. I am very energetic and not really worried about the scales as i know the are going down. I was just curios if anyone else had the same isssue of dropping reg pop and cosuming less calories but didn't lose weight.
