I never realized what poor habits I have when it comes to eating. I have begin to recognize I eat out of boredom! I have got to stop that! To help I try to have a glass of water in my hand at all times!! Okay within reach!
. I work out at home with Fitness Videos and I walk.
I am thinking, high protein, low carb diet is the answer for me.
I am also searching the Glutien free diet.

Eat a diet composed of mostly minimally processed, whole foods you enjoy in the portions that provide you with adequate micronutrients and satiety while remaining in a 10-20% deficit.
Calories in v. calories out at the end of the day (or week if you prefer) is the bottomline of weight control. No ifs, ands or buts about it. There are are no foods off limits, meal timing and frequency is not directly related to metabolism or weightloss, carbs are fine to eat any time of the day and keto diets still rely on the simple concept of calories in v. calories out.

Does that mean I can still have my addiction (Dr. Pepper) and still lose weight?

Cheri1970, I had/have those problems myself. If you stick with it a few weeks or months, those urges subside. Its just like quitting smoking/heroin/what have you. The first couple weeks suck! It does get better. When my wife and kids were gone, and I was really bored, it got rougher. We really do have 1 track minds, so just try to stay busy too. What I am doing for a diet is calorie counting. Just about any show/diet/program says to log your foods, its the principle behind Weight Watchers (Accountability/Counting). That is how I found this website, via the app to log foods....
So Ruud, If you put yourself on a certain number of calories, which for me is 1500 a day you can eat whatever you want! I can drink Dr. Pepper too! Or I can eat white bread and sticks of butter.
However, if you maintain the discipline to stay on said program, you will learn to understand how foolish drinking Dr. Pepper or whatever is. The number of calories in a full sugar soda is equal to some of my meals, or something like a bowl of cereal.
So today I choose to spend my calories wisely. I know if I have a Dr. Pepper or Cupcake in the morning, my dinner may be a bowl of broth.
It is what it is. Calories in VS Calories out.
I will go on to say, its 80% what you eat, and 20% what you do. I tried jogging and eating fried chicken, it did not work for me. I suppose I needed to run further.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
If you have a blender at home you can make vegetable soup. Trader Joes also has some relatively decent packaged soups. Greek yogurt and smothies are also good options. You can buy some protein powder ...
