Seems like there is always something going on during the weekend that involves food. Lately my son's college baseball team parents have been putting out buffet spreads for things like Senior day, family day, and tailgating before and after playoff game. My biggest emotional, mental, self control, discipline issue centers on two things; I seem to want to get a taste of every item, and I have this people pleasing thing that lends itself to being polite and trying everyone's food and contributing to finishing it. My dad always preached to finish everything on your plate because people are starving in Africa.
Any suggestions??

Bring an apple with you (or any other low-calorie-density, fibrous food). Before the buffet madness begins, eat it and have a glass of water. It'll be very hard to overeat after that.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
I'm reading this while eating some absolutely delightful fresh melon for breakfast. If the melon isn't soft enough on its own you could add it to a fruit smoothie.

Hmmm. Didn't realize plain yogurt was that high in carbs. I mentioned it because the friend who recommended it to me said her parents do it, and they are both on Atkins. I'm doing Paleo, but ...
