I have yogurt or a little square of dark chocolate (1"x 1" ). Surprisingly, the dark chocolate is very satisfying after a meal.

What do you have when you crave something sweet?
If you are on Atkins try this: 2 cups cottage cheese, mix in a package of dry orange flavored S.F. jello, whipped cream-about 3/4 cup or use lite non-dairy topping, and one or two cans of Mandarin oranges.
For other diets: slice up some fresh strawberries, banana, and pineapple chunks on a plate and drizzle with a small amount of chocolate syrup. I call it my banana split without the ice cream.

I find just one of the chocolate after dinner mints do a great job of topping off the meal with that little sweet something.

I have a serving of natural peanut butter mixed with a packet of splenda, or other sweetner. Taste like the filling of a reeses.
If not today, then when?

Sugar free Russell Stover candy, cheesecake for one, or whipping cream with unsweetened cocoa and splenda.

These days I seem to be addicted to cough drops - but they might as well be jolly ranchers. I like having something in my mouth to work on - it helps me stave off the hunger for a while.

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment?

I'll second the sugar free Russell Stovers - they have LOTS of varieties and are very good. I also seem to find that having an Atkins shake does the trick for me, because I really like cold and creamy. The Atkins bars are yummy too. Big Train makes quite a few mixes for brownies, cookies, etc that are wonderful - a little high in carbs (4-8g per serving), but still WAAAAY lower than the "real" thing, and every bit as good. I have to guard them whenever I make them, because my family will dispose of every bit of it before I can turn around - it's THAT good! Have done the whipped cream and cocoa thing too - very good. Oh, and Hersheys makes several SF versions of their candies - Reeses and York peppermint patties are my fave's - but if you're sensitive to sugar alcohols, you have to go easy on those.

I love to take cream cheese (warmed up) then add - splenda and hershey's cocoa and mix together. I do 2 tbl of cream cheese and maybe 1/2 package of splenda and 1/4 teaspoon of coca. It reminds me of a mousse pudding. Great treat...

I keep sugar free hard candy as a treat for when that sweet tooth hits. They are only 1 carb and really make a big difference for me. If I dont have any I grab a pickle!

root beer float sounds good - I do the same sort of thing with diet coke; trouble is I find it hard to stop at one.
What I also like is hot cocoa - heaped tspon of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 cup alpro no-sugar, no-salt soya milk, 1/2 cup cream, sweetener to taste. Helps me not have other indulgences during the day as I usually keep it to the last thing I have in the evening and look forward to it all day.

I make a mock-shake: 1 c. skim milk + one overripe banana + 1/2 teaspoon vanilla + crushed ice. Blend and enjoy!

Why not just have a teaspoon of white sugar??? 16 cals and if you eat it all at once it should stop your cravings.

Hi Zulu! Since the OP is on Atkins, a tsp of sugar would be a bad idea. Part of the Atkins process is to eliminate sugar and other simple carbs. Having sugar will actually make the cravings come back in full force. Most of us are addicted to sugar and telling a sugar addict who is trying to get away from it, is not unlike telling a heroin addict to just do a little to get over the craving.
