Someone on the Atkins FB page had posted about Jimmy Johns being Atkins friendly. I tried the Turkey Tom unwich with smoked turkey, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, tomato and mayo all wrapped in lettuce leaves.
278 calories , 3.82 net carbs and 14.59 protein.
Next time I will ask for double meat to up the protein in it. Overall, though very good and nice to have a fast food restaurant where "WE" can order it our way. Basically, any sub they have can be made an unwich with lettuce leaves.
I have fallen and failed, BUT I am picking myself up and starting this journey AGAIN!!!

Wow - that is so good to know! There's a Jimmy John's right around the corner from my work, and lunch is sooo hard sometimes! Gonna give it a try! Thanks

LOL- - I'm not a patient person - went and got one! Takes a bit of getting used to when you're a bread lover, and it was pretty expensive (nearly $9.00!), but tastes wonderful and worth it when you're in a pinch and forgot lunch (like I did). Thanks again!

Wow.. Where are you? Mine was only 4.85 with tax included. I am in San Antonio, Tx. For the last month i have replaced taco shells and hamburger buns with green leaf lettuce so i am pretty used to it.

On their website they say an unwich has the "same ingredients and price of the sub or club without the bread". If I was you, tsammma, I would ask for my money back.

That is good to know! I have never been to a Jimmy John's, but you've given me a great reason to try it. More places should have options like that!

I had tried this very same unwhich (hold the sprouts) and swapped out the real mayo for the reduced fat version (they have those in packets). I know Atkins allows for mayo by my calorie count does not. It was still a great choice and since I wasn't terribly hungry it got me to dinner quite nicely.
I am not on a diet - I have changed the way I eat.

Hmmm, I wonder if it was the TYPE of sandwich I got - AND I did get double meat, but it sounds like it still shouldn't have been THAT much. One thing I have to say - it WAS really good, and filling, and when my 3 year old laid eyes on the remaining half, he thought it was the coolest thing ever! He ate most of the rest of it - lol.
