as a reformed jealous husband (partly reformed anyway Smile) I recommend your local Y; the atmosphere is definately family oriented and not a meat market (which is probably his problem); the ones here (in Miami) are not as well equipped as commercial gymns, but its not like you need every machine under the sun to keep fit-the basics are fine. Also, you mentioned your sister (6 ft-125 lbs)-if possible, why not work out with her? That would probably ease his mind.

I can't go to a gym either cuz I'm a stay at home mom to a 3 year old and a 3 month old and I don't have anyone that can babysit so I'm buying a treadmill today so that I can jog & walk while in the comfort of my own home. I also bought "Barry's Bootcamp" so that i can work out at home. It's much more convenient to work out at home if you ask me. And once u get the necessary equipment it's free Smile

i dont know how much gym or y membership cost around u but ours has a yearly and monthly fee.now i understand some people like the social and motivational benifits of a gym.i on the other hand dont mind working out by myself at home.my machine was practically brand new for $20 at goodwill.got my own whirlpool and shower.to each his own i suppose.

The gym I go to has childcare there. I got my gym membership through my health insurance for a very discounted rate and I can cancel it anytime. Because my kids are under my health insurance their childcare at the gym is free.

Aw, just tell him, "No problem, the gym instructor has agreed to come over and help me with my workout while you're at work." I don't know, maybe you should be flattered. Maybe he considers you so hot that he just doesn't trust those wolves out there.

I work out at a gym and at home - just because of my crazy work sched and little kids, hubbys shift work, and well life...lol
I run - free$ but need good shoes! I just go around my neighbour hood, its pretty safe area, and my hubby knows my route, i do it backward to shake things up- and if i ever dont come back at a reasonable amount of time i always have my blackberry with me to listen to music, he can call.
I have a swiss ball 10$ -(Big excersize ball) use it for abs, legs cardio, sitting watching tv.
I have a yoga matt 15$- use it to do poses ive learned at the gym, leg lifts, russian twists, super mans, stretches ect
I have a skipping rope 7$- skip in the drive way, or side walk when kids are sleeping and i cant leave for a run. excellent cardio!
I just bought a hula hoop 3$- hilarious and a great abs/back work out!

And as for your husbands issues- well lets just say NO man woman or child ever tells me what I can or cant do...And thats all i'll say about that.

LOL DKing, love it!

This is tough, though, since no one is sure of the motives and circumstances. We might be offending...
but it really was funny - sorry Smile
