I am very frustrated. When I did the Atkins diet many years ago (Cool I lost alot of weight very fast. I don't seem to be loosing as fast this time around. Granted I am not getting the same exercise as I did when I was younger, but I do work for a living.

I wanted to loose 5 lbs. for the rest of this month. I don't want to not eat, but I will if things don't shift.

I have read that you all limit your faux sugars to 3 a day. I didn't read anything to that effect in the Books. In fact it said that I could have my fake sugar in my decaf.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Don't worry! the longer you stick-- will work! I had plateaus the past three months. I finally started journaling and realized I was really eating when not hungry - A LOT. Now I'm much more aware of what my daily intake is - and it's made a huge difference. Also, when the weight comes off totally I'm making certain not to pig out and get fat again. I feel great over fifty pounds lighter than my highest weight and is a huge incentive to stick to this diet no matter how restrictive it is. It's taken me three months to really see results now, I started in October. Now I'm getting compliments on my weight loss of nearly 20 pounds - I started at 223 not 220 like my profile says and I can't change the profile - and I'm so glad I stuck with it and didn't quit - keep going and in the months ahead you'll be so happy!
My name is GlennM- Hi! I was quite overweight about ten years ago for my height. I am thin now. I have only Atkins to thank for making me trim again. Stick with this diet long-term everyone if you can. It works! Now I'm doing Calorie
Count as maintenance. Thanks for any and all support.

On p 128 of DANDR, it says to limit saccharin to 3 packets/day. I didnt read this pertaining to splenda on that page... I did read on the following pg to count each pkt as 1 carb.

Do you have the 2002 edition of the Atkins NEW Diet Revolution? It is stated in the chapter on induction. I have to agree with Glenn, jounaling is very important. I have to stay below 20g net carbs per day even on OWL in order to lose at all. And I work out 3-5 days per week. As you get older your metabolism slows down, just keep at it and you will see results.

You might want to re-read the ATkins book just for a refresher course. I re-read it often and it helps me catch those little details I must have missed the first time around. Even if you don't reread the whole book, read the chapter on what to do if you're not losing. Good luck!

Love the food that loves you back.

Take it one day at a time!

I still dont see where it specifically says to limit anything but saccharin (and to avoid aspartame.) Am I nuts?

It is mentioned on page 144 in the end of chapter tips, "Limit sweeteners to three packets a day." It does not state this in the section on sweeteners, just in the end of chapter tips. My book is the 2002 paperback version.
