For some people, yes. Sugar and carb withdrawals can cause the "Atkins flu" for some. Chicken broth can help with sodium levels and can ward off headaches. Atkins.com and the Atkins threads here can give more extensive advice for the first few days.

Very normal, drink lot's of water, chicken or beef broth for the sodium is recomended, it's just your body adjusting to fat burning modeSmile I sucumbed to panadol, quick fix, it worked well.
Just don't give up, you will feel better soon.

I'm not a doctor but I do know that taking carbs and sugar away can cause headaches. My Dr. said they will pass as your body gets used to the change.
I started Atkins 6 days ago and I had a couple headaches the first 3 days then boom no more. I also lost 10. pounds ....Good luck and feel better soon.Very Happy

I had a headache, too, among other things. I had body aches, lethargic, and short tempered. I used chicken broth, lots of water, and IBprophen.
Feel better soon. Oh, and I was so sleepy. This only lasted a few days, then, wow, I felt great. Buzzin' around with so much energy.

If you've been used to having a lot of caffeine, following the Induction requirement to cut it out can also cause the headaches.
Cheers,

I had to take migraine pills the first two days because of my caffeine withdrawal. What people refer to as "Atkins flu" is also referred to as "detox" by everyone else.
Comfortable at this size/weight (I really don't want to buy size 0 jeans).

It's not about "weight" or the number on the scale. It's about lean muscle mass and body fat percentage.
At 125 I was a size 8 (after I lost 100+ pounds over 1.5 years).
At 135 I was a size 6 (maintained for several years) and over 28% body fat. I had 97 pounds of lean muscle mass and felt skinny fat.
Now at 140 I am a size 2 and have the smallest measurements I've ever had since I started taking them around the age of 18. I'm at 25% body fat and 107 pounds of lean muscle mass!! I'm no She-Hulk, either.

Don't tell me you aren't losing "weight." That doesn't tell me anything. Tell me how much fat you've lost and how much lean body mass you've gained. Here's a good start to estimate: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html

For about a month I had headaches and huge dizzy spells. It was the Induction flu, but also a lack of electrolytes. Make sure you take plenty of potassium, magnesium and calcium supplements with a lots of water every day! It really helped me get through the "flu" and now I don't have that anymore.

Yep screaming headaches, complete tiredness and feel generally rubbish and achy from day 2 till around day 5. Its a phase, see it as a detox and know that its a good thing. I woke up on the 6th or 7th morning and felt awesome!
