287 to 180:

I just wanted to say thank you to the people on this website who have been so encouraging and helpful along the way. I especially want to thank all my buddies who stop by my journal to write. Support means so much! Never underestimate the kindness of strangers Smile

I also want to say, this site has been so helpful to me so thank you to the makers of fatsecret for such a wonderful FREE tool! You make it possible for people like me to regain control over our eating habits by educating ourselves. This site is a real service to society at large. Think of all the health problems prevented and lives saved. It is a wonderful thing!

I posted this in my journal when I reached 180 but I would also like to share it with everyone:

The journey is not over because it is a lifetime journey. But I have to admit this has me a bit emotional because I've been trying to get here for so long and now I'm here and... I feel great, but on the other hand it doesn't really mean all that much. It is only another number. Because in reality, I feel like I won this weight thing ages ago, pounds ago, inches ago, miles ago. I won it when I realized I could trust myself and math and there were no secret magical weight faeries that would sabotage me in my sleep. I won it when I realized that it was all up to me and that I had all the tools to be successful. And I also won it when I disconnected my feelings of self worth from my weight. I can now positively say, and believe, that I am an awesome person, a great friend, a successful professional, and a beautiful woman, no matter what I weigh. That's the real victory.

But now I can also say that I set a goal for myself and I attained it. I stuck it out through plateaus and stress. I never even considered "giving up". You can't give up on your own life. And I can also say that I weigh 180 pounds, I have a 29.5 inch waist (yes, under 30" for the first time in my life), perfect blood pressure, the endurance to run 5 miles or more, and the strength to leg press 300 pounds. It is a good day to be me Smile

Congratulations! What an inspiring story.
Things that make you go Hmmm....

. If you ate pasta and antipasta would you still be hungry?
. If one synchronized swimmer drowns. Do the rest have to drown too?
. If space is a vacuum, who changes the bag?
. What is another word for Thesaurus?
. Is there an imaginary cure for hypochondria?

Just wondering....

Great job! Congrats!!! =)
My start weight was 336. This was taken on 5/14/10. Unfortunately I can't get this to correct itself.

I know "Foodisevil" was not the brightest choice for a name, but I was grasping for straws when most everything else I tried was taken. I know that not all food is evil, just chocolate and McDonald's, lol!
