In the forums lately I have been noticing a lot of people wondering what the heck to eat in between meals...The meals seem to be easy but the inability to stop snacking on the bad stuff is really getting to us...

What are some of your favorite healthy snacks that you grab on the go or eat to tie you over...

Mine are:

Yogurt-100 or so calories

Sugar free, fat free, chocolate pudding (absolutely fantastic for when you have a chocolate attack, and they are sooooo good)- 60 calories

any type of fruit

a portion full size of cereal(either kashi or special k)-120 calories

Low fat cheese and crackers-200 calories

hard boiled egg-78 calories

I am sure I have more, but I don't want to take everyone's idea.. I would love to hear some really unique ones that maybe people haven't heard of yet...It is always fun to add a new snack.

Fresh cherries are my favorite. Only 4 calories each and they satisfy a sweet tooth better than M&M's.

Special K chocolately drizzle cereal bars are just 90 calories each and absolutely delicious.

A celery stick with low-fat cream cheese (or Laughing Cow cheese spread or peanut butter) and raisins on top is really tasty.

Low-fat string cheese is a quick and easy way to take the edge off hunger. About 50 calories.

Thomas Bagel thins - LOVE them. Bagel taste without all the bulk. For savory I'll use Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb, & for sweet I'll use a thin spreading of peanut butter & slice up a banana. Toast the bagel first, of course!

Unsweetened applesauce - only 50 calories for 1/2 cup

a snack I discovered today (which automatically moved to the top of my "favorite" snack" list) is a morning star spicy black bean burger patty topped with 2 tablespoons of wholly guacamole - pico de gallo style. It is only 165 calories and 7.5 grams of fat. It also has 12 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber so it keeps you satisfied for a while !!!

I make myself little 100-calorie packs of baby sized goldfish crackers. As soon as I get home from the store, I measure & put them in little snack size ziplock bags - about 63 baby goldfish is 100 calories. Since they are smaller than normal goldfish crackers, there are lots of little bites. I bring a little baggie to work in case I'm in need of a less-than-healthy snack. It is a much better alternative than a trip to the office vending machine!

almonds are always a good snack but if you are really needing something sweet, try jello or low fat pudding with some whipped cream on top! Also, I love marshmallows!

What a great forum idea!

My go to snacks are almonds, and celery & hummus.

i like to use fruit with almonds (i get the 100 calorie packs of almonds, so that i don't go crazy. no more cans of nuts around my house!)

or an apple and some fat free feta.

instant fat free sugar free pudding with chocolate cheerios.

a lite english muffin with some melted feta and an apple on the side.

1/2 a serving of regular peanut butter on fruit or vegetables.

fiber one bars when i'm not at home.

turkey pepperoni with some whole wheat ritz.

basically, anything that gets me some protein and some fiber mixed together, to keep me feeling energized and full.

I like a banana with chopped almonds and drizzled with honey.
Also, Special K low-fat granola with some black or blue berries. The heart healthy nut mix is really good.
