I am going shopping today or tomorrow and was wondering what does your DIET shopping list look like. Maybe I can get some new ideas for food or snacks. I am always looking for great new meal ideas. Thank you in advance for your reply.Question

ooo ooo try sugar free jell-o pudding! they come in all sorts of flavors and are yummy! and Have you ever made a cake using a diet soda...well better yet make cup cakes with a diet soda. All you have to do is mix a cake mix with a diet soda and then pour into muffin tins...makes 24 cup cakes and 2 cup cakes are 3 points! YUMMY so far my fave is a chocolate cake with a diet cherry coke. I also like the Reese's 100 calorie snack pack...it says reese pieces, peanut butter chips, and some ceral puffs and ceral squares. I also like the mini rice cakes that are drizzled in chocolate.

I fast for half of the week, but we do all of our shopping for the week on Wednesday evening. I always purchase lemon juice, vegetarian vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, fresh and canned spinach, bag of lettuce mix, chunky salsa, light done right dressing, mushrooms, onions, and a jar of Vlasic dill pickles. Those are my staples, then I add to the list depending on what we're making for the week.

I get lots of different types of fresh fruit. Then when I get home I cut it all up and store it all together in a big tuperware dish. Then when I make my lunch in the morning for work, I just scoop out some fruit to take to work. Those rice cakes are also great, always have some of those on hand when the muchie cravings hit, only 1 pt. per rice cake and they come in so many different flavors.

Well for me I don't have the mindset that I'm on a diet, I'm changing the way I eat to get healthier. Wink I get fresh fruit and veggies, different salads, lean meats, all kinds of beans, egglands best eggs, light whole wheat bread, Wasa crackers, laughing cow cheeses, with summer being here my desserts are either WW ice creams, fresh fruit with light whipped cream, s/f jello with lt.w.cream. Oh and the Special K chocolatey delight is a favorite of mine.Very Happy I also grill almost every night. There are so many choices doing WW. Very Happy Also if you have a local library near by go check out the WW cookbooks, you'll find all kinds of great things in those.

I'm detoxing until Tuesday, but after that I plan to eat grilled, steamed or broiled meats, eat lots of veggies and lay off junk foods. Eddy's makes a great tropical sherbet, so I'm planning to substitue a scoop of that over icecream and I love watermelon, so I'm eating a lot of that. It's so juicy and sweet I don't crave sweets aftwerwards....Drinking lots of water will curb a sweet tooth also. I like trail mix too so I'm eating a handful of that for snacks. I don't buy the kind with candy pieces because I don't want the sugar in my diet anymore. So I buy the kind with nuts and dried fruit. I'm also cutting back on breads. Beginning Tuesday I'm having either no bread or half a roll with meals. Since the detox began I haven't had bread and I really don't miss it.

My 'change of lifestyle' shopping list

chicken
beef (lean)
lemons
rhubarb
cucumbers
lettuce
red, yellow, orange, green peppers
sea salt
cinnamon
ground flax seeds
vanilla whey powder
stevia
nectarines
grapefruit
cranberry juice (organic)
sweet potatos
tuna
chicken in a can
chicken broth (low fat/low sodium)
Ezekial bread
eggs (when my own chicken egg production is low)

I can make a ton of anything with what I buy and I've lost 21 lbs since starting this plan on May 28th.

Start on the edges of the grocery store. That's were you will find fruits, veggies, dairy, and meat (and some lo cal ice cream Laughing ) Then work your way in to pick up anything else (whole grain pasta & bread, sugar free jello, diet soda, etc)
