I have always tried to stay on the healthy road of eating lots of fruit, veggies
fish and skinless chicken, fruit smoothies etc.. Ive decided to change over to the Dr Atkins diet but its totally different to what Ive known to be healthy.. I would love some feedback as to how well it works for others

i've tried so many diets in the past.. meaning low calorie, pills, slim fast.. and this is the diet that really works for me.. and the fact that you can have all the fat that u want doesnt hurt either.. it's nice to be able to have bacon, sausage fried foods and be losing weight at the same time.. but yeah i love being on atkins cause you loose the weight pretty fast.. and for those who dont want to do it forever.. when i stopped i gained weight back but it wasnt fast at all.. hope you guys are here to stay you will be so happy and amazed with the results.. only thing is that it is very hard the first couple weeks cause you still have all the cravings.. good luck

While you can have all the fat you want in Induction, oftentimes Atkins gets a bad reputation because people think of the diet as life-long induction, which it is not. After my initial big weight loss, I stopped with the excess fat and instead went with leaner meats, no more nitrates in my meat, more nuts and lots of veggies. BIG thing for me long term was to kiss potatoes, pasta, rice, sugar (anything white really) goodbye for good. And you know what? I honestly don't miss them. I think your body craves what makes it feel good and if Atkins worked to get it in shape, it craves those foods. I keep up the vitamins because I really feel that they help me maintain. Oh and WATER - water is powerful stuff.
I gained back ten pounds after moving and going thru a rough patch where I just didn't care as much about what I was eating. The devil foods? Yep - breads, pasta, white stuff.
Cool - I ended 2 paragraphs with "stuff".

Craving
Try having a glass of club soda on ice with a lime wedge when you want a cold drink.

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
