Nope, I think it's a big waste of money. My BIL and SIL is selling the shakes and trying to get me and DH to buy in and sell them too. I figured if I was going to do a shake program I would buy slimfast and save some money.

My friend is doing it and seeing good quick results. I am planning to buy the cheapest package next month and give it a shot.

Ditto- you're much better off with an approach that will also give you the tools to manage your weight in the long run. Any program that makes you buy their food, shakes, pills, whatever, to lose weight isn't teaching you that and you'll put the weight right back on when you resume your normal habits.

Agreed Gnat. Additionally, the cheapest package is $50 (at least through my BIL) at that gets you one shake a day, $100 for two shakes a day. If you want to sell the product you have to pay $500, your shakes are free, and if you recruit anyone to sell you get a portion of their profits. Just another MLM scheme. I paid $50 for SlimFast and got two shakes a day, just sayin...

I am pretty sure Slimfast is NOT as healthy as Visalus is. I am not following the "diet" to a "T", however, I have lost 25 pounds and over 27 inches on it in about a 5 week time period. Just started it again yesterday, and I am down 1/2 pound today Wink

Doing the challenge as well. Love the shakes. They have tons of nutrients in them and I feel good drinking itSmile I also notice that my skin seems clearer and brighter since I started them.

I had a local promoter blowing up my cell phone wanting to market this to my customers so I finally went to the website to check it out. The package says the product is manufactured in a facility that also produces wheat products. I have celiac disease so I CANNOT eat anything that may have the tinest bit of wheat in it. The protein in wheat damages my intestines. So, I politely told her I cannot use the products and don't feel comfortable pushing products on my customers if I cannot use them myself. This woman tells me she talked to the head nutritionist and the label is on there because of some law and it is no big deal and I should use the products anyway since it is safe. Um, that law??? The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004. It is kinda is a big deal. I was shocked the nutritionist of a "nutrition" company had such a low regard to food allergies and the damage that can happen to people if they eat their trigger food. I let the promoter know I would love to educate the head nutritionist on celiac disease - never heard back from her...

Any diet plan that has one using up more calories than one is taking in is going to result in weight loss. The only way to be healthy and stable at your recommended weight is to eat real food in the correct portion size forevermore. And move around a bit. And we need to quit teaching our children to use meal replacement products!
