Dear god, probably half of the American diet is corn or corn derivatives. We should have the lowest cholesterol rates in the world...

It is true, corn is one of the most effective foods to lower cholesterol (because as mentioned here, it's high in sterol). Other produts that also reduce cholesterol are peanuts, rice, avocado, olives, walnuts, aloe vera, dark chocolate, almonds, garlic, green tea.
