Hello FS budies! I just thought I'd post a little informational link regarding a simple way you could help save someone's life. Ever consider registering to become a bone marrow donor? Bone Marrow Registry
It's simple, quick, easy, & non-invasive to sign up! All you do is send away for the kit, swab your mouth, and send it back...then sit and wait to see if you can save a life.
I joined a couple years ago when a friend's brother-in-law had leukemia. Now another friend's mother-in-law is fighting the same battle. Only about 1 out of 540 people on the registry ever get called upon. (I haven't yet) 70% of people who need a bone marrow transplant don't have a genetic match in their family. That's where the National Registery comes in - helping find an unrelated donor who is a close enough match.
There's information here with some FAQs. Seriously look into it. Thanks.
