iPhone app and web site

I'm having a problem with the iPhone app. Anything I enter on the app will also appear on fatsecret.com, like it's supposed to. But anything I enter on the website is missing from the app. I tried the sync feature on the app and it didn't do anything. Any ideas?

seems to do the same thing for me but between my iPhone and iPad, although funny: on the Diet Calendar page the totals show up, just not the specific items on the Food Diary page. I wonder if that's happening with your situation as well.

have you tried something simple to start? Reboot your phone and then reconnect to see if the updated info is there..

I can't get the app at all! It's there, I install it, then the screen goes back to free. I think it's my phone! Now I can't get any apps!

What Iphone do you have and which OS are you running?
(to check which OS, tap settings-> general-> software update)
Does it say that your software is up to date also?

Same here, the info that enter on my computer doesn't pass to the app, but does the other way. I closed all apps and rebooted and it didn't make a difference.

Update: didn't do anything special but it does seem to be working now, it's not instant and for food updates I did have to close the app and go back in

This seems to be the way it works. Same for me. Food entries I entered on the website several hours ago don't show up in the app until the app is killed and restarted. Once I did that, the day summary still didn't have the total but when I went into the day's food page, it all showed up. So I'd hope they'd add a manual sync feature like email so when you pull down the page, it refreshes.

I second that, a method to refresh the app's data from the server would be great.

Force killing the app and rerunning it does resync.

same with me as well. It doesn' seem to sync with the apps on my android. I have to keep rebooting my phone and it's annoying. Also, sometimes the items in your "Most Eaten & "Recently Eaten" just don't load correctly or entirely blank.

As far as I can tell, the apps are just plain broken.

1. I entered food data on my Android phone in the Food Diary. When I switch to My Summary, the data briefly appears, then it vanishes and says I've eaten 0% RDA.

2. The data doesn't sync with the web site...therefore it also doesn't sync with my iPad.

3. There are threads on this forum complaining about syncing problems from three (3) years (YEARS) ago.

I was excited when I found the FatSecret apps; I thought that they looked and worked great compared to LiveStrong.

But there's one important problem: they just plain don't work. And since these problems have existed for years, I must conclude that FatSecret don't use their own apps. Guess I'll stick with LiveStrong.

I commented on your other post where you in the same way nag about the app.

The app has worked flawlessly for me for years, on three different phones and a tablet. All android.

Maybe the issue is NOT the app? Enjoy LiveStrong if you feel that works better.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with Kingkeld. The app has had major problems since an update in November 2012. There are many complaints attesting to this on the app store. Among the problems are issues with syncinc, searching, updating, force closing/freezing, and the widget blanking out. At the moment, it's probably easier to simply log into the main site from your phone. So far, the issues have not been addressed.
