I've been using the dance (fast) option from the exercise section for Zumba. However, I feel like I burn way more than 600 calories in an hour class. Any suggestions?

I also love zumba. I do the zumba core on the Kinect. At the end of the workout or game (however you want to look at it) it tells you approximately how many calories burned based on your weight. I weigh in around 179 to give you a reference point. For me an hour of zumba is between 825 & 850 calories. 45 minutes is between 625 & 650. 20 minutes is between 425 & 525. I hope this helps.

I do Zumba 3 times a week. The class is an hour long. I also use the fast step option. I assumed that 600 calories was about right. I asked my instructor and that's what she said, although I know it's different depending on your size. I weight 220, so maybe I'm burning a lot more. I certainly hope so.

If you really want to know, get a calorie counter to wear and get a more accurate calorie count. You can get them as arm bands and watches. I used a watch to verify my Kinect's calorie count. They are based on heart rate.

It really depends on your weight and how hard you work. Some zumba instructors are more intense than others. Some people push themselves harder than others. I weigh around 125 lbs and I burn about 400 in an hour - but I've been doing zumba for awhile. When I started I was burning about 500 calories/hour. I use the DVDs and I have a bodymedia fit that tells me how many calories I burn.

I am currently walking between 3 miles up to 7 miles per day. My best walk was 13.5 miles all while wearing 1 Lb ankle weight's during my walk.
